Srinagar, July 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani has called for a complete strike on 8th and 13th of July and asked the people to organize “Day with a Martyr’s Family” on Wedneday.

Syed Ali Gilani addressing the people in a statement issued in Srinagar paid rich tributes to the martyrs of July 13, 1931 and Burhan Wani, who along with his associates, Sartaj Ahmad and Parvez Ahmad was martyred by Indian troops at Bemdoora in Kokernag on July 8, 2016.

He also paid glorious homage to hundreds of people killed and thousands, who were tortured, maimed and blinded by Indian forces during 2016 people’s uprising in the aftermath of commander Burhan’s martyrdom. »

Srinagar, July 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, dozens of journalists staged a protest demonstration in Srinagar against crippling restrictions, imposed by India on Kashmiri journalist fraternity in the name of new media policy.

The journalists gathered under the banner of “J&K Media Guild” outside Press Club in Srinagar and demanded immediate rollback of the so-called policy.

Carrying banners that read “Don’t Gag Media” and “Down with Media Policy 2020” the protesters shouted slogans against media restrictions in the territory. »

Srinagar, July 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has paid glowing tributes to prominent youth leader Burhan Muzaffar Wani ahead of his fourth martyrdom anniversary on July 8.

APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, called for protest strike across occupied Kashmir on Wednesday to convey a message to the world particularly the United Nations that the people of Jammu and Kashmir completely reject forcible occupation of their motherland. Burhan Wani was extra-judicially killed along with two other colleagues by Indian troops in Kokernag area of Islamabad on July 8, 2016.

The spokesman said that the 8th of July would be observed as Youm–e-Istiqlal [Freedom Day] to reiterate the Kashmiris’ resolve that they would continue their struggle for right to self-determination through thick and thin. »

Srinagar, July 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have paid glowing tributes to prominent Kashmiri youth leader, Burhan Muzaffar Wani and his associates ahead of their fourth martyrdom anniversary.

The Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference Chairman Shabbir Ahmad Dar in a statement issued in Srinagar while remembering Burhan Wani and other martyrs of July 2016 said that the Kashmiri martyrs were their heroes who sacrificed their lives for pursuing the political right of the Kashmiri people. He said, India cannot suppress the voice of the people of Kashmir through use of brutal tactics and advised New Delhi to stop bloodshed and come forward for a durable solution to the Kashmir dispute. »

Islamabad, July 06 (KMS): A meeting of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter was held in Islamabad, today, with Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in Chair.

The meeting thoroughly discussed the prevailing situation of occupied Kashmir and reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue the struggle for securing the right to self-determination.

The participants of the meeting rejected India’s illegal moves being taken in occupied Kashmir and vowed to accelerate campaign at international level against India’s design to change the Muslim majority status of occupied Kashmir into a minority by granting domicile certificates to non-Kashmiris. They added that the United Nations would also be informed about the India’s nefarious designs in its next session. »

Srinagar, July 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, of the total 95 percent mineral blocks auctioned by Delhi-run regime in the territory, the non-local mining companies have bagged almost all the contracts for extraction of minerals from water bodies with locals saying the authorities are twisting clauses in favour of the outsiders.

Majority of mineral blocks auctioned for extraction of minerals are now under the control of non-local contractors who have won online bids invited by the Geology and Mining Department.

“Prior to August 2019, the minerals from water bodies were extracted exclusively by locals who used to pay royalty to the department. The abrogation of special status of Jammu and Kashmir paved the way for non-locals to compete in the e-auctioning for extraction of Kashmir’s minerals,” the locals said. According to Geology and Mining department’s data, the non-local contractors have bagged majority of mineral blocks in all the districts of Kashmir where the bidding has been completed. »

New Delhi, Jul 06 (KMS): The Modi-led fascist regime in India has banned 40 websites belonging to the Sikh community members and organizations, the latest in a series of measures against the Sikh population who are the second largest minority after Muslims in the country.

Earlier India had declared nine members of the Sikh community as terrorists on the charge of having links with Khalistani organization.

Now, Delhi has blocked 40 websites for allegedly being run by Sikhs For Justice (SFJ), an organization which India says is working for a separate homeland for Sikhs in India. »

New York, July 06 (KMS): An American lawmaker has promised to raise in the US Congress the plight of Kashmiri people still languishing under the Indian military lockdown in occupied Kashmir.

Congresswoman Yvette Clarke of New York said this while speaking as chief guest at an event organized by the Pakistani American Association in Brooklyn, New York, in connection with the US Independence Day.

She said she remained concerned over the human rights violations being committed in Kashmir and called for ending those atrocities. In her remarks, Congresswoman Clark, a Democrat, thanked Pakistani-Americans who she said had supported her in her election and promised to do everything possible for their welfare. »
