Srinagar, July 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, three persons including a police officer were killed and several persons injured in different road accidents of the territory.

Nazir Ahmad Sofi, working in Police department as Assistant sub-inspector, was killed when he was on way to Srinagar and his motorcycle was hit by a speedy truck on a road in Awantipora area of Pulwama district, police said on Friday. »

Srinagar, July 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Private Schools Association of Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK) has hailed the individual schools, teachers and other members of the society for starting community schooling in their localities for the benefit of students amidst the current lockdown.

In a statement issued in Srinagar, the spokesman of the Association said, “Our education sector has been almost shut down for last one year due to one reason or another. Our children are the worst sufferers of the situation as some of them have even gone into depression. To mitigate the problems some of the individual schools, teachers and even other respectable members of the society from different fields started community schools in their neighbourhoods. It is a great initiative to save the career of tens of thousands of our students”. »

The gruesome killing of an unarmed civilian in front of his grandson by the Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on 1st July 2020 in Sopore, north-west of Srinagar, has shocked the world. The images of a shell-shocked, speechless toddler lying on the chest of his dead grandfather were heartbreaking.

This barbaric murder by the Indian occupation forces triggered widespread condemnation and protests by residents and members of civil society from Indian Occupied Kashmir. They continue to plead for justice and an end to the state-sponsored violence which has been a hallmark of the Indian occupation.

The July 01 incident is just a tip of the iceberg. There are scores of such heart-wrenching incidents of state-sponsored violence against Kashmiris during the decades of conflict. Media sanctions imposed by the Indian authorities and the absence of social media, prevents incidents of violence gaining international attention and a cumulative humanitarian response. »

Islamabad, July 10 (KMS): Federal Minister for Human Rights Dr. Shireen Mazari has written a letter to the United Nations High commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet to apprise her about the situation of human rights violations in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK).

In a letter written on July 6, the Federal Minister expressed grave concern over the illegal annexation of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir by the India on August 5, 2019. “Your personal commitment to protecting and promoting human rights has been consistent and unwavering due to which I appeal to your respected office to bring to a halt the forcible transfer of civilian populations to and from Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir,” says the letter. »

Mirpur, July 10 (KMS): Azad Jammu Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan, has said that because of US’s protection to India in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), the latter is operating with absolute impunity in the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK). This is where, he said, realpolitik is steering dynamics of the Kashmir dispute. Both the US and India have economic and defence partnerships, and this has become a barrier for the US, as it sees the Kashmir dispute through the prism of India, he said.

The AJK President made these remarks while addressing a virtual conference of club members, belonging to different walks of life, of a prestigious IVY League institute. »
