Islamabad, July 20 (KMS): Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party while condemning the illegal detention of party Chairman Shabbir Ahmed Shah has sought the role by the world human rights bodies in the early release of the APHC leader, languishing in Tihar Jail, India, for the past three years.

DFP Acting Chairman Mehmood Ahmad Saghar in a statement issued in Islamabad terming the illegal imprisonment of Shabbir Ahmad Shah as a deep-rooted conspiracy to suppress voice of dissent in Kashmir said that the ailing APHC leader was being deliberately punished for his unprecedented and indomitable role in the Kashmiris’ ongoing freedom struggle against the Indian illegal occupation. »

Srinagar, July 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, 13 more people, who were tested positive for Covid-19 died since Sunday, thus taking the total number of fatalities due to the virus in the territory to 251.

10 coronavirus positive patients died on Sunday and three on Monday (today). The deaths that occurred on Sunday included seven from the Kashmir Valley, two from Jammu division and one from Ladakh region, whereas those recorded today were all from the Kashmir Valley.

With these deaths, 229 people in the Valley, 20 in Jammu and two in Ladakh have died so far due to the Covid-19.

Srinagar, July 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Ittehad-e-Islami in connection with the Kashmir’s Accession to Pakistan Day has praised all political elites for ascertaining the destiny of Jammu and Kashmir to be a part of Pakistan through a resolution unanimously passed on July 19, 1947 in Srinagar.

The General Secretary of Ittehad-e-Islami, Muhammad Altaf Salfi in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “We demand of Pakistan to do everything on the historic occasion so that Kashmir is not only freed but also the religious and political future of Kashmiris can be secured.” »

Srinagar, July 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a family has complained that Indian troops during a cordon and search operation subjected a member, Waseem Ahmad, to the brutal torture in Kakapora town of Pulwama district, today.

The family members told media in Srinagar that the troops dragged the youth and thrashed him mercilessly. They said that Waseem, a science graduate and a civil service aspirant, suffered injuries as they continued to hit him in front of them. “We don’t know why he was beaten up,” they asked.

The family sought intervention by local police and the administration to file a case against the culprit Indian Army personnel.

Srinagar, July 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a middle-aged man’s body was recovered from Chenab River, today, 22 months after he went missing in Doda district of Jammu, officials said.

They said that following the information by locals that a body was floating in the river, a police team was rushed to the spot which fished it out. »

Srinagar, July 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi Jammu and Kashmir has said that it is the moral and religious duty of the entire Muslim Ummah to raise voice for the Muslims of Kashmir, Rohingya and Palestine as they are passing through difficult times.

The spokesman for Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi in a statement issued in Srinagar said that there were sensible people in India and they should raise their voice on the Kashmir dispute. He said that the aggressive and illegal occupation could not continue for long.

He said that despite turning Kashmir into a big jail, the spirit of freedom-loving Kashmiris could not be suppressed. The people of the territory would continue their struggle till taking it to its logical conclusion. »

Brussels, July 20 (KMS): Chairman, Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU), Ali Raza Syed has said, the historic resolution of accession of Jammu and Kashmir to Pakistan was based on Kashmiris’ relations with Pakistan on religious, geographical, cultural and economic grounds.

Ali Raza Syed in a statement issued in Brussels said that Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and across the world observe the Accession to Pakistan Day on 19 July every year.

He said, Kashmiris declared their accession to Pakistan a month before the independence of Pakistan and then ruler of Jammu and Kashmir dishonestly announced his accord to India and India illegally captured a large part of Jammu and Kashmir. India started brutal acts against the Kashmiris from the day first of its illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir. »

Srinagar, July 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the past twenty four hours did not prove to be quite good for the Indian Army and paramilitary as three soldiers suffered unnatural deaths with the latest one taking his life by shooting himself with his service rifle in Srinagar, today.

A soldier associated with Indian paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in the Pantha Chowk area of the city. He was identified as Biswjit Dutta.

Another Indian soldier identified as Akshay Kumar was killed when his service rifle went off at Dewar Gali post in Gulmarg area of Baramulla district. »
