Jammu, July 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, four more persons including a woman died of COVID-19 today, taking the total number of deaths due to the deadly disease in the territory to 165.

Of these latest victims, two died at Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, and one each at SMHS hospital and Soura Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar. The patient died at SMHS hospital was a 24-year-old woman. »

Islamabad, July 11 (KMS): Pakistan has called for an enhanced international monitoring of the human rights crisis in the Indian occupied Kashmir (IOK), as the United Nations Special Rapporteurs made public their third report on Kashmir, expressing grave concern over excessive use of force, and ill-treatment during arrests and detentions.

“Pakistan wishes to underscore the importance of growing international concern over the grave and systematic human rights abuses being perpetrated by Indian security forces against Kashmiris in the IOJ&K,” Foreign Office spokesperson Aisha Farooqui said. »

Karachi, July 11 (KMS): Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Sardar Masood Khan has suggested that Pakistan should hold joint military exercises with China and keep its armed forces ready for a fully-fledged war as India could engage in any misadventure to save its face after the stand-off with China in Ladakh.

Srinagar, July 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police yet again summoned senior journalist and Editor of ‘Kashmir Walla’ news portal, Fahad Shah, today, in connection with the coverage of a cordon and search operation (CASO) in Srinagar in May, this year.

Fahad Shah, who is the founding Editor of ‘Kashmir Walla’ was summoned by police at a police station in connection with the stories that KashmirWalla published while covering the CASO in Nawakadal, Srinagar, on May 19, 2020. Indian troops had martyred Junaid Sehrai, noted mujahid commander and son of Hurriyat leader, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, along with his associate and destroyed at least 19 residential houses. »

Srinagar, July 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops continued massive cordon and search operations across the territory, subjecting the residents to torture and harassment.

The troops continued to carry on their violent operations in different areas of Srinagar, Badgam, Ganderbal, Kupwara, Bandipore, Baramulla, Shopian, Pulwama, Islamabad, Kulgam, Poonch, Kishtwar, Doda, Ramban and Rajouri. The residents of these areas told media that the Indian forces’ personnel barge into the residential houses, harass the inmates and vandalize the household goods. The troops have also arrested several youth from different areas. »

Kathmandu, July 10 (KMS): Nepali cable operators have stopped airing in the country the Indian news channels for their baseless propaganda against Nepal government and Prime Minister, KP Sharma Oli.

Multi System Operators (MSOs) in Nepal have decided that all the Indian news channels except Doordarshan, India’s state-owned television channel, will not be broadcast in Nepal.

The vice chairman of Mega Max TV, Dhruba Sharma, said that the cable operators took the decision to this effect on Thursday. »

Srinagar, July 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the kids of illegally detained Hurriyat leader, Mohammad Yaseen Attai have appealed the authorities to release their father on compassionate grounds as they lost their ailing mother who was quite unwell since long.

Relatives of detained Hurriyat leader in a media interview in Srinagar said that 50 years old Sakeena Banoo, wife of Mohammad Yaseen Attai, passed away after prolonged illness. They said Sakeena was unwell from several months after that she was moved to hospital for treatment, however, she died there and left her minors without any guardian. »

Srinagar, July 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, in order to suppress the Kashmiris’ ongoing freedom struggle and to create a sense of fear among the masses, Indian troops and police personnel have not even spared the innocent children in the territory.

An analytical report released by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, today, said that Indian police and troops were even targeting Kashmiri children and hundreds of them, including 18-month-old Hibba Jaan, lost their eyesight due to firing of pellets by the forces’ personnel on peaceful demonstrations in occupied Kashmir. »

Srinagar, July 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Youth Social Forum (JKYSF) led by its Chairman, Umar Aadil Dar and Srinagar district secretary, Faisal Ahmed, visited the residence of illegally detained Hurriyat leader, Muhammad Yasin Attai, and condoled the death of his wife with the bereaved family.

The wife of Yasin Attai passed away in Badgam district, the other day, after a prolonged illness.

The JKYSF delegation on the occasion expressed sympathy and solidarity with the aggrieved family and prayed for the highest standards in Jannah for the deceased. »

Srinagar, July 10 (KMS): in occupied Kashmir, analysts and journalists, criticizing the Indian government’s recently introduced new media policy, have said that the policy is aimed at completely wiping out journalism and an attempt to control the narrative in the territory

Anuradha Bhasin Jamwal, executive editor of Jammu-based English newspaper, Kashmir Times, said, “It’s an attempt not only to gag and silence the media but also kill the media”. She added that the new regulation was an attempt to criminalize journalists by scrutinizing the content in the media and deciding what news was fake and anti-national. »
