Beijing, July 04 (KMS): As Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi undertook a surprise visit on Friday to eastern Ladakh to meet troops amid a bitter Sino-India military standoff, China said neither side should make any move that may complicate the border situation.

Reacting to Modi’s visit, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian told reporters in Beijing, “China and India are in communication with each other through military and diplomatic channels. Neither side should make any move that may complicate the border situation.” »

Islamabad, July 04 (KMS): Pakistan believes in peaceful co-existence with its neighbours, but it has the will and capacity to defend its people and territorial integrity.

This resolve was expressed at a high-level meeting held in Islamabad with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair  to review the internal and external security situation. The recent developments with regard to Ladakh clashes between China and India and security challenges faced by Pakistan are also understood to be deliberated upon during the meeting. »

Islamabad/Beijing, July 04 (KMS): For the first time since the recent military standoff between China and India in which 20 Indian soldiers were killed, Pakistan publicly told Beijing that the regional security situation was deteriorating and underlined that India’s belligerent posture and expansionist policies were threatening peace in the region.

In a telephonic conversation Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and his Chinese counterpart State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi discussed bilateral, regional and international issues including the issue of Indian occupied Kashmir. »

Srinagar, July 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities, today, booked Advocate Zahid Ali under draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) and shifted him to Central Jail Srinagar.

His family said that Zahid Ali was taken away by Indian police on June 30 from his residence at Nehama in Pulwama district, and detained him at Police Station, Kakapora in the district. Later on, he was moved to Srinagar Central Jail after PSA was slapped on him. »

Srinagar, July 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the family of Zahoor Ahmed Butt, leader of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and younger brother of Shaheed Muhammad Maqbool Butt, has expressed grave concern over his illegal detention and deteriorating health.

The family talking to media men in Srinagar said that Zahoor Ahmed Butt had been illegally detained at Mattan Police Station, Islamabad town, for the last three years and the authorities had kept him incommunicado.

The family expressed grave concern over his falling health at the police station during the coronavirus pandemic. It feared that he could be affected by the deadly virus due to the lack of proper medical treatment at the police station. »

Muzaffarabad, July 03 (KMS): A protest sit-in was held, today, in Muzaffarabad against the brutal killing of a civilian, Bashir Ahmed Khan, by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.

The protest sit-in was organized by International Forum for Justice and Human Rights.

A large number of people gathered at Burhan Wani Chowk in Muzaffarabad, holding banners and placards against the Indian atrocities in the occupied territory. »
