Istanbul conference urges special UN envoy on Kashmir

Ankara/Islamabad, July 01 (KMS): A conference in Turkey called upon the secretary-general of the UN to appoint a special envoy to resolve the dispute surrounding Kashmir and for it to start mediation efforts on holding a UN-sanctioned plebiscite in the region.

In a 13-point joint declaration issued at the end of a virtual two-day international conference on Kashmir hosted by Istanbul University, the participants demanded an “early, just and durable resolution” in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions. »

Shibli urges world to take due cognizance of Indian atrocities against Kashmiris in IOK

Islamabad, July 01 (KMS): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz has urged the international community to take due cognizance of Indian atrocities against innocent Kashmiris in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and hold India accountable under international law and relevant human rights conventions.

He said this in a special message for the online conference titled: “Kashmir: Regional and International Dimensions” organized by Istanbul University, Turkey. »
