Family of missing Srinagar man stage protest, seek his whereabouts

Srinagar, August 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the family members of a missing man from Srinagar staged a sit-in protest at the Press Colony, seeking his whereabouts.

Ghulam Rasool Wani, a resident of Khushipora HMT, went missing on 24th July after setting out of his house for a morning walk and never returning back.

According to the family members, Ghulam Rasool Wani is a driver by profession and had not been going out work due to the lockdown and COVID-19 pandemic, but was regularly proceeding for a morning walk early and returning back home by 9am.

Wani’s niece Rubeena said, “My uncle left the house on the fateful day for his routine walk between 6 and 6.15am and when he did not return back till 9am, we got worried and started searching for him in vain till 5pm.”

Rubeena said, “The family is worried and we are desperate to know about his whereabouts.”

Appealing the authorities to help them in tracing the missing person, the family said that if any agency or individuals had picked Wani, they should release him as he was an innocent and had never indulged in any act that was subversive or annoying for anyone.
