Islamabad, August 05 (KMS): Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi told media in Islamabad, today, that the UN Security Council held a session on Kashmir in New York, today.

It was the third UN Security Council’s session since India illegally abrogated Article 370 of its constitution and revoked IIOJK’s special status on August 5, 2019. »

Curfew, curbs continue in IIOJK
Srinagar, August 05 (KMS): Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control, in Pakistan and the world over observed, today, the 5th of August, as Youm-e-Istehsal, to denounce illegal, immoral and unconstitutional revocation of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s special status by Modi fascist government on this day, last year.

The day was marked by complete shutdown in the occupied territory to protest against the continued military siege and Modi regime’s nefarious demographic apartheid plans. Call for the strike was given by the veteran Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and supported by all pro-freedom leaders and organizations. All shops, markets and business establishments across the occupied territory were shut while public transport was off the road. »

Srinagar, August 05 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, G C Murmu has resigned as Lt. Governor.

Murmu’s resignation comes on a day India completes one year of the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A of the Indian Constitution. Article 370 provided special status to Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir till August 5 last year when the Indian government abrogated the law and split the territory into two Union Territories – Jammu and Kashmir (with a Legislative Assembly) and Leh-Ladakh (without a Legislative Assembly).

Muzaffarabad, August 05 (KMS): Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that due to the effective measures taken by the incumbent government Kashmir has become the focal point of the world attention.

Prime Minister Imran Khan was addressing a special session of the AJK Legislative Assembly in Muzaffarabad today.

He said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi committed blunder on 5th of August last year. He said that Modi won election overwhelmingly on the basis of hatred against Pakistan and Hindutva card. »

Muzaffarabad, August 05 (KMS): APHC AJK leaders Muhammad Hussain Khatib, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Shamim Shawl, Sheikh Abdul Matin, Ishtiaq Hameed and Nisar Mirza called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Muzaffarabad today.

On the occasion, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Ali Amin Gandapur, Federal Minister for Information Shibli Faraz, Chairman Kashmir Committee Shahriar Afridi and other ministers besides Azad Kashmir President Sardar Masood Khan, Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan and Azad Kashmir Law Assembly Speaker Shah Ghulam Qadir were also present. »

Islamabad, August 05 (KMS): President Dr Arif Alvi has emphatically stated that Pakistan will always stand by their Kashmiri brethren and will not leave them alone in their just struggle for securing their right to self-determination.

Speaking in the Senate today, he said that Pakistan has always waged a peaceful struggle for resolution of the lingering Kashmir dispute and would continue to do so in future as well. He said the new map released by the government yesterday is actually based on reality. »

London, August 05 (KMS): UK-based human rights organization ARTICLE 19, which focuses on the freedom of expression has demanded of the Indian government to lift the communication shutdown in Jammu and Kashmir, and revoke the New Media Policy 2020.

The organization in a statement issued in London said both the shutdown and policy are not aligned with the commitments India made when ratifying the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), and are direct violations of basic human rights. »

Srinagar, August 05 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the authorities continue to impose curfew and strict restrictions to prevent people from holding anti-India demonstrations on Youm-e-Istehsal, being observed, today, on the completion of India’s illegal actions of 5th August, last year.

The occupied territory has already been under military siege since August 05, last year, when Narendra Modi-led fascist government of India repealed the special status of Kashmir. Indian troops have been deployed in strength across the occupied territory to keep the people indoors.

The authorities have sealed most of the roads and market places. Announcements were made on loudspeakers wherein people were asked to stay inside their homes. No movement of people is being allowed. »

Muzaffarabad, August 05 (KMS): Prime Minister Pakistan, Imran Khan, inaugurated “Resistance Wall” in memory of the oppressed Kashmiris in Muzaffarabad, today.

Prime Minister Imran Khan participated in a solidarity walk along with AJK President and Prime Minister and others to commemorate one year of military siege of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Additional Chief Secretary AJK government, Dr Asif Hussain, briefed Prime Minister Imran Khan about the resistance wall.

Islamabad, August 05 (KMS): The Senate of Pakistan today (Wednesday) unanimously passed a resolution calling upon the international community to hold India accountable for its illegal and unilateral actions and human rights violations against the Kashmiri people.

The resolution moved by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi rejected the Indian illegal and unilateral actions of 5th August 2019. »
