JKPL supports APHC’s Tuesday strike call: Aijaz Rahmani

Islamabad, August 09 (KMS): The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL) has supported the strike call of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference on Tuesday (August 11) on the martyrdom anniversary of senior Hurriyat leader, Sheikh Abdul Aziz.

Sheikh Abdul Aziz was shot dead by Indian troops while he was leading a procession from Srinagar to the Line of Control on August 11, 2008 against the economic blockade of the Kashmir Valley by Hindu extremists of Jammu.

The JKPL Vice Chairman, Syed Aijaz Rahmani talking to his party leaders on telephone from Islamabad appealed to the people of Kashmir to make the strike call successful and pay tributes to Sheikh Abdul Aziz on his martyrdom anniversary and other Kashmiri martyrs who laid their pious blood and lives for Kashmir cause.

He said that the JKPL would also hold Quran Khawani and prayer sessions on the day.

Syed Aijaz Rahmani said that the mission of Shaheed Sheikh Abdul Aziz would continue till taking it to its logical conclusion.

He said the struggle of Kashmiris is based on truth and demanded that India should withdraw its forces from Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and resolve it as per the United Nations resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
