Nishan-i-Pakistan – recognition of IIOJK people’s struggle

Islamabad, August 14 (KMS): Pakistan has conferred Nishan-i-Pakistan, the highest Civil Award of the country, on the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani, for his services and sacrifices in the Kashmiris’ ongoing struggle for securing their right to self-determination.

An icon of the ongoing Kashmir freedom movement, Syed Ali Gilani was born in Zaingair area of Sopore town of Baramulla district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir on 29th September 1929. He was educated at Sopore and finished his studies at the Oriental College, Lahore. He was a member of Jamaat-e-Islami Kashmir but later on founded Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir. He served as the chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference for many years. »

Srinagar, August 14 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the people took to the streets and fired firecrackers in Srinagar and many other places across the territory to celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day, today.

The people including youth defying restrictions imposed by the authorities came on the streets to commemorate the Independence Day of Pakistan. Besides using firecrackers, the people on the occasion shouted slogans like “We are Pakistanis, Pakistan is ours”, “Long live Pakistan” and “We want freedom”. »

Srinagar, August 14 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and other Hurriyat leaders have welcomed the awarding of Nishan-i-Pakistan, the highest Civilian Award of the country, by Pakistan to veteran Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani.

The APHC General Secretary, Molvi Bashir Ahmed, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said that conferring Nishan-i-Pakistan on the veteran Hurriyat leader, showed Pakistan’s commitment to the Kashmiris’ just cause of liberating their homeland from the Indian yoke. He expressed gratitude on behalf of people of Jammu and Kashmir to the government of Pakistan for continuously extending its moral, political and diplomatic support to the oppressed Kashmiris. »

Srinagar, August 14 (KMS): Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and the world over will observe the Indian Independence Day, tomorrow, as Black Day to convey the message to the international community that India continues to deny them their inalienable right to self-determination.

The day will b marked with a complete shutdown in the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir call for which has been given by the veteran Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, the Mirwaiz Umar Farooq-led Hurriyat forum and supported by almost all Hurriyat leaders and organizations. The Kashmiris across the world will hold anti-India demonstration in from of Indian embassies to draw the world attention towards the Indian brutalities in the occupied territory.

The veteran Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani, in a message referring to India’s illegal occupation over Jammu and Kashmir said that a nation that resorts to usurpation and deprives others of their freedoms, loses every right to celebrate its freedom. He asked people to observe complete shutdown on August 15 to keep alive the tradition of observing India’s Independence Day as a Black Day. »

Srinagar, August 14 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has congratulated the people of Pakistan on their Independence Day.

Syed Ali Gilani in a tweet, today, said “Heartiest congratulations to the people of Pakistan on the Independence Day. May this fort of Islam emerge stronger from all the challenges and evil designs it is battling and may it continue to remain a source of strength and hope for all the oppressed Muslims around the world.” »

London, August 14 (KMS): Pakistan High Commissioner to the UK, Mohammad Nafees Zakaria, has paid rich tributes to the sacrifices of Kashmiris and commended their resolve for securing their right to self-determination in the face of the worst oppression by Indian occupation forces in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing the Independence Day ceremony at the Pakistan High Commission in London, today, he said, in contravention of the UN Charter, UN Security Council’s resolutions, international laws and conventions, India has been committing heinous crimes against defenceless Kashmiris. He stated that it has been over a year that more than 8 million Kashmiris in IIOJK remain under Indian military siege and inhumane communication blockade since 5 August 2019. »

Nishan-i-Pakistan was conferred on Syed Ali Gilani by President Dr Arif Alvi during a prestigious ceremony held in connection with the Independence Day, today, at President House in Islamabad. The award was received by the Hurriyat AJK leaders on behalf of Syed Ali Gilani. »

New York, August 14 (KMS): The New York based rights watchdog, Human Rights Watch, has said that the Indian authorities should immediately order an independent, impartial investigation into the extrajudicial killing of three labourers by Indian forces in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, last month.

The labourers, Abrar Gujjar, Imtiyaz Gujjar and Abrar Khan from Rajouri district were killed by Indian Army’s 62 Rashtriya Rifles during a CASO at Keller Amshipora in Shopian district on July 18.

The HRW in a statement posted on its website said, the Indian Army claims that the three were militants and were killed in a retaliatory gunfight after they fired on the forces during a search operation on July 18 in Shopian district, and were then buried in Baramulla district. However, it said that the families of the victims in Jammu, who identified them from photographs of the killings circulated on social media, said they were laborers who had gone in search of work. »

Srinagar, August 14 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, two Indian policemen were killed and one was injured in an attack on a police party in Srinagar, today.

Unidentified gunmen attacked a police party Nowgam bypass resulting in the killing of two policemen and injuring of another. The injured policeman has been shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Soon after the attack, Indian troops and police personnel cordoned off the entire area and launched searches to nab the attackers.
