Srinagar, August 14 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have extended greetings to the people and government of Pakistan on the occasion of their Independence Day.
The Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who has been under illegal house detention since August 5, 2019, in a statement in Srinagar greeted the people and the government of Pakistan on their Independence Day. He said that Pakistan’s Independence Day was being celebrated by Kashmiris in the occupied territory and all over the world. Kashmiris and Pakistani are together and Kashmiris will continue their struggle till they achieve their birthright to self-determination, he added.
The General Secretary of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Molvi Bashir Ahmed, in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed the hope that Pakistan would continue to play its selfless and historic role in carrying forward the Kashmiris’ liberation movement. He extended his best wishes for a strong Pakistan and said that Pakistan was a fort of the Islamic world and as such it needed to play an important role not only in Muslim countries but also in the international community. He said that a stable Pakistan was important for the resolution of issues of the Muslim Ummah including the Kashmir dispute.
Molvi Bashir Ahmed said the Kashmiris resolved on 19 July 1947 in a historic convention in Srinagar that Jammu and Kashmir will be part of Pakistan. He said that the rivers of Kashmir flow towards Pakistan signifying that both are one and nobody can damage the oneness of Pakistanis and Kashmiris.
The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Political Party, Engineer Hilal Ahmed War, in his statement in Srinagar, felicitating the people and the government of Pakistan, prayed for peace, prosperity, stability and integrity of Pakistan. He said, “We are highly grateful to the Government of Pakistan for extending its moral, political and diplomatic support to the oppressed people of Jammu and Kashmir in their struggle for right to self-determination as enshrined in United Nations Charter.”
Hilal War said Kashmiris and Pakistanis are tied in strong bonds of religion, civilization and culture. He said that Kashmiris shout pro-Pakistan slogans under the bayonets of Indian guns to show their love for the country.
The Chairperson of Kashmir Tehreek-e-Khawateen, Zamruda Habib, and General Secretary, Shamim Shawl in their separate statements described the creation of Pakistan as a momentous day in the history of South Asia. The said that the Kashmiri people had remained firm in their pledge to join Pakistan, adding that the solidarity shown by Pakistan had boosted the morale of struggling Kashmiris.
They said India’s August 5, 2019 moves with respect to IIOJK had once more vindicated the Two-Nation Theory, which was more relevant today than ever before. “Article 370 abrogation has once again proved that Muslims needed a separate state in the sub-continent,” they added.
Hurriyat leader, Firdous Ahmad Shah in a statement issued in Srinagar, congratulating the government and people of Pakistan on their Independence Day, prayed for everlasting peace and prosperity in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the Acting Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, in a statement in Islamabad, extending his heartiest felicitations to the people and the government of Pakistan said, “The struggling people of Kashmir are highly grateful to Pakistan for its all-out moral, political and diplomatic support to their just and legitimate struggle”.
The General Secretary of APHC-AJK Chapter, Advocate Pervez Ahmed Shah, in a statement in Islamabad prayed for the development, peace and stability of Pakistan. He said that a stable and strong Pakistan was essential for resolution of the Kashmir dispute. He hoped that Pakistan will keep championing the Kashmiris’ just cause at every world forum till they achieve their right to self-determination.
Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Young Mens League, Zahid Ashraf, in his message extended his heartfelt greetings to the Pakistanis on their Independence Day. He said that Pakistan was a huge favour and great blessing from the Allah Almighty to the Muslims of the entire world. He said that the whole Muslim Ummah was proud of this great state being the only Muslim atomic power.
Vice Chairman of the Islamic Political Party, Syed Mushtaq Hussain, in a statement in Islamabad said August 14 is very important for all Muslims in the region. He added that Kashmiris had been aware of India’s intentions since 1931 so that they would continue to raise their voice at every level against the Indian occupation of 1947 and would continue their struggle till complete freedom from India.
