Srinagar, August 15 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, unidentified gunmen on Saturday evening shot dead a man in Kangan village of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

An official said that unknown gunmen fired upon a man identified as Azad Ahmad Dar, 40 of Kangan village, leaving him critically wounded. He said the injured man was shifted to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

As per reports, the man is physically challenged. He further added that whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.

Islamabad, August 15 (KMS): An anti-India protest demonstration was held outside the Indian High Commission in Islamabad to mark India’s Independence Day as a Black Day, today.

Convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, Mustafa Muhammad Hussain led the protest demonstration.

The participants of the demonstration, expressed concern over the unjustified arrests and continued imposition of restrictions in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir by India. They said India will not be able to suppress the Kashmir liberation movement through military might and other cheap tactics. »

Restrictions continued in IIOJK to prevent anti-India demos

Srinagar, August 15 (KMS): Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and the world over observed the Indian Independence Day, today, as Black Day to convey the message to the international community that they reject India’s illegal occupation of their motherland.

The day was marked by a complete shutdown in the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Call for the strike was given by the veteran Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, the Mirwaiz Umar Farooq-led Hurriyat forum and supported by almost all Hurriyat leaders and organizations.

Syed Ali Gilani in a message referring to India’s illegal occupation over Jammu and Kashmir said, a nation that resorts to usurpation and deprives others of their freedoms, loses every right to celebrate its freedom. The APHC spokesman in a statement in Srinagar said that India had no moral right to observe its Independence Day as it had held the people and land of Jammu and Kashmir illegally for the last 73 years through military might. »

Indian troops martyred 95,649 Kashmiris since Jan 1989

Srinagar, August 15 (KMS): While India observed its Independence Day, today, it continued to impose strict military siege in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

A report released by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, today, said that the Indian Independence Day brought more miseries for the Kashmiri people as the entire occupied territory was converted into a military garrison by the Indian authorities.

The report said that Indian troops in their continued acts of state terrorism martyred 95,649 Kashmiris since January 1989 till date. »

Brussels, August 15 (KMS): The Kashmiri Council Europe (KCEU) organized a protest demonstration in front of Indian Embassy in Brussels today to mark India’s Independence Day, as Black Day.

The protest was arranged by KCEU in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and other political and social organizations.

A large number of people from all walks of life including Kashmiris, Pakistanis and Sikh community members, representatives of different organizations based in Belgium and other EU countries attended the protest demonstration.

The participants of the protest raised slogans against Indian occupation of Kashmir and brutalities committed by the Indian troops in the occupied territory. »

Srinagar, August 15 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the authorities continue to impose strict restrictions across the territory to prevent people from holding anti-India demonstrations on Indian Independence Day, today.

The authorities have converted the Kashmir Valley, particularly Srinagar, into a military garrison by deploying Indian troops and police personnel in every nook and corner.

In Srinagar, thousands of troops and policemen are patrolling the deserted streets, lanes and by lanes to thwart any attempt of people to stage anti-India demonstrations. A cricket Stadium in Sonawar area of Srinagar, the venue of main function of Indian Independence Day, has virtually been turned into a fortress. No vehicular movement is being allowed near the stadium while sharp-shooters have been deployed on high-rise building around the venue. »

Srinagar, August 15 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, body of an Indian soldier was recovered in Gulmarg on Saturday, more than eight months after he was swept away by a snow avalanche.

The body of the soldier, Rajinder Singh of Army 11 Gadwal, was recovered at Roshni 1st post in Gulmarg. He was missing since January 8, this year, after coming under snow avalanche.

Jammu, August 15 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, various Sikh leaders and organisations including Sikh Intellectuals Circle J&K, International Sikh Federation, Sikh Students Federation, J&K Sikh Council and the Sikh Youth of J&K have welcomed the decision of Pakistan government for conferring Nishan-i-Pakistan on veteran Kashmiri Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani.

Narinder Singh Khalsa, Chairman of Sikh Intellectuals Circle J&K, told media that a special meeting of senior Sikh leaders of these organisations was held in Jammu, today, wherein Sikh leaders said that Syed Ali Gilani was the symbol of freedom struggle of Kashmir and a leading voice against the Indian oppression in the occupied territory.  »
