Srinagar, August 16 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, senior Hurriyat leader, Professor Abdul Ghani Butt along with a delegation visited the house of ailing General Secretary of Awami Action Committee, Ghulam Nabi Zaki in Sopore to inquire about his health.

Professor Abdul Ghani Butt speaking to the people on the occasion said that it was the right time to resolve Kashmir dispute and called for initiation of a dialogue process at the earliest.

Professor Abdul Ghani Butt said that Chinese presence in Ladakh had added a new dimension to present situation, which if escalated would be disastrous for the whole region. He said in order to avoid any untoward situation, it is imperative that the Kashmir dispute be resolved through dialogue. »

Srinagar, August 16 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) has called for a protest strike on Wednesday against killing of three innocent labourers from Rajouri including a young boy in a fake encounter by Indian troops in Shopian on 18th July, this year.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar termed the killing of the labourers as a barbaric and heinous act and demanded a probe by an international investigation agency into the killing.

He also urged the people of Jammu region including Rajouri, Poonch, Kishtwar, Doda, Udhampure and Ramban districts to take to streets against such heinous crimes perpetrated by the Indian troops and authorities. He also expressed solidarity with the victim families and paid rich tributes to the martyrs. »

‘Resolution of dispute matter of life and death for IIOJK people’

Srinagar, August 16 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the General Secretary of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Molvi Bashir
Ahmad has said that by observing India’s Independence Day on August 15 as Black Day, a clear message has been sent to India and the international community that the people of the territory reject illegal occupation of their land.

Molvi Bashir Ahmad in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the resolution of the Kashmir dispute was a matter of life and death for the people of Kashmir.

He urged India to refrain from oppressing the Kashmiri people, adding that the use of brute force on Kashmiris could not prevent them from their just struggle for securing right to self-determination which New Delhi had recognized in the form of the United Nations Security Council resolutions. »

Brescia, Italy, August 16 (KMS): Speakers at a Kashmir conference held in Italy in connection with India’s Independence Day, which Kashmiris across the globe observed as Black Day, have urged the United Nations and European Union (EU) to take notice of gross human rights violations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The conference was organised by Tehreek-e-Kashmir (TeK), Europe, Italy. On the occasion, TeK-UK President Raja Fahaim Kayani said that since August 5, 2019 people of IIOJK had been under lockdown and during the past year India silently gave more than four lakh Hindu extremists domiciles allowing them to purchase land and property in occupied valley. »

Srinagar, August 16 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, while increased deployments and curbs yet again marked India’s Independence Day on August 15, a BJP MP tweeted an old and doctored photo of the Srinagar’s commercial hub, Lal Chowk claiming that Indian flag was hoisted on the famous clock-tower.

BJP MP from Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal shared an image on twitter that showed the Indian flag hoisted on top of the clock tower in Lal Chowk.

Namgyal wrote, “Lal Chowk Srinagar which had remained as symbol of AntiIndia campaign by dynast politicians & Jihadist forces, has now become Crown of Nationalism.” He added, “Modi hai to mumkin hai, Thanks my countrymen for electing Narendra Modi and Amit Shah”. »

Srinagar, August 16 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Kashmir Valley’s pro-India politicians appeared to treat Indian Independence Day with scorn, mostly staying away from the celebrations, skipping the customary greetings, and some even mocking the absence of celebrations in the territory.

Indian English daily The Telegraph said that the Valley-based pro-India politicians did this as a sign of the anger at last year’s abrogation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status.

As per the English daily, Mohammad Akbar Lone, National Conference Lok Sabha member from Baramulla, summed up the mood, saying he had stayed away from the celebrations because he no longer accepted August 15 as his Independence Day. “We don’t accept it as our Independence Day,” Lone told the daily. »

Srinagar, August 16 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, senior Congress leader, Saifuddin Soz has said that he continues to be under house arrest for the past one year, contrary to what the IIOJ&K regime claims.

The Supreme Court of India on July 29 closed a habeas corpus petition, filed by Soz’s wife, after the local administration told the court that the senior Congress leader was “neither in detention nor under house arrest. But when media persons went to meet Soz, he was found to be confined within the walls of his home, restricted by the police personnel, deployed outside his house, from moving out. »

Srinagar, August 16 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a massive cordon and search operation has been launched in Sopore, Baramulla district on Sunday.

The operation is being jointly conducted by Indian Army’s 22 Rashtriya Rifles, Central Reserve Police Force and Special Operations Group. The troops have cordoned off entire Dangerpora area of Sopore while all exit and entry points have been sealed.

Eyewitnesses said that some gunshots were heard in Aftab Mohallah, Dangerpora area of Sopore during the operation.
