Srinagar, August 18 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has said blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is being used as a tool to stoke communal hatred in the territory.

Syed Ali Gilani in a tweet, today, said, “Blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was, and shall always remain, unacceptable for Muslims. But recent incidents indicate that such despicable crimes now being used as a political tool to first stoke communal hatred and then crackdown on Muslims.” »

Srinagar, August 18 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, complete strike will be observed, tomorrow, to condemn the blasphemous remarks of a local BJP leader, Satpal Sharma, against the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Call for the strike has been given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and supported by almost all Hurriyat leaders and organizations. The shutdown is also aimed at denouncing the killing of three innocent labourers by Indian troops in a fake encounter in Shopian, last month. APHC General Secretary, Molvi Bashir Ahmed, in a statement in Srinagar said that tens of thousands of Kashmiri Muslims were ready to sacrifice their lives to protect the honour of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Other Hurriyat leaders and organizations including Masarrat Aalam Butt, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Khawaja Firdous, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Davinder Singh Behl, Hanif Kallas, Ijaz Madani, Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami and Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi in their separate statements also condemned the profane remarks of the BJP stalwart. Senior APHC leader, Masarrat Aalam Butt, in his message from New Delhi’s Tihar jail said that the terrorist groups in the Modi government were deliberately hurting the sentiments of the Muslims to provoke them. Hurriyat leaders said that Satpal Sharma intentionally uploaded the video containing the blasphemous remarks to unleash the massacre of Kashmiri Muslims under the guise of communal riots in the occupied territory. The leaders demanded death punishment to the blasphemer. »

Hurriyat leaders continue to condemn blasphemous remarks

Srinagar, August 18 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations continued to condemn the blasphemous remarks of a Hindu priest, Satpal Sharma, against the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League, Masarrat Aalam Butt, in a statement from jail expressed shock over the sacrilegious remarks by a Hindu priest, Satpal Sharma, against the Holy Prophet (PBUH). A JKPML spokesman quoting Masarrat Aalam Butt said that the Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir would send a strong message to the world through protests against the blasphemous act. He said the terrorist groups in the Modi government are hurting the sentiments of the Muslims under a premeditated plan to force the Muslims to react and give the Indian government a chance to spread negative propaganda against them. He said people affected by Hindutva mindset are always engaged in conspiracies against Muslims.

Hurriyat leader and Democratic Political Movement Chairman, Khawaja Firdous, in a statement issued in Srinagar said that no Muslim would tolerate the blasphemous remarks against their Prophet (PBUH). He said that protests by Kashmiri Muslims would continue till the cursed Hindu priest was given due punishment. He said that under a well-thought-out plan India was hurting the feelings of Muslims in Jammu and Kashmir and a conspiracy was being hatched to massacre the Kashmiri Muslims under the guise of communal riots. »

Srinagar, August 18 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar’s historic Jamia Masjid was thrown open today for Zuhr prayers after 150 days of lockdown purportedly due to coronavirus pandemic.

The spokesman of Anjuman Auqaf Jamia Masjid in a statement in Srinagar, today, said that for the convenience of those coming for prayers, Auqaf Jamia had put in place all the SOPs and other preventive measures including providing free masks and keeping the sanitisers inside the grand masjid and putting up posters of guidelines to be followed. »

Srinagar, August 18 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the death toll of Indian forces’ personnel who came under attack during a two-day cordon and search operation in Baramulla district, has reached five.

The attack was launched on Monday morning when a joint team of Indian Army, Central Reserve Police Force and Indian police was involved in the search operation in Kreeri area of the district. Four troops were killed and several others injured yesterday. One of the injured troops succumbed, today, raising the toll to 5. »

Srinagar, August 18 (KMS): In illegally Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir, police beat up brother of an APHC-AJK leader and arrested his nephew in Pulwama district.

The police personnel barged into the house of APHC-AJK leader, Abdul Majid Mir and beat up his elder brother and arrested his nephew Danish Ahmad Mir in Kareemabad area of the district.

The Indian police arrested another youth during a house raid in Shopain. »

Islamabad, August 18 (KMS): Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has warned that the effectiveness of the post-World War II international structures is eroding and states will have to rely on their own strengths and take bold steps to rectify historic mistakes.

He made the remarks while addressing an international webinar hosted by Islamabad Policy Institute on ‘Annexation of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir by India: Lessons for regional security’. Participants of the virtual session were from Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), China, Turkey, Iran, Bangladesh and Nepal, in addition to local think tanks and scholars. »

Islamabad, August 18 (KMS): Pakistan has planned to raise the Kashmir issue with full vigour in the upcoming summit of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) commencing mid next month although it would be subdued affair since most of the countries have informed the world body not to attend it at the head of state/government echelon.

It is unlikely that any of the P-5 (The US, China, Russia, France and United Kingdom) will be represented by their heads of government except US President Donald Trump viewed traditionally as host and he will deliver opening address as per tradition »

Muzaffarabad, August 18 (KMS): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan has said as we complete one year of India’s audacious militaristic lebensraum and irredentism in Illegally Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K), the world multilateral fora’s, notably the United Nations’ response to ongoing settler-colonisation of the occupied territory remains guarded and cautious.

“The UN Secretary-General, António Guterres, and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, have made some helpful statements but that is not enough,” he wrote in an article published by Hilal magazine of Pakistan Army. AJK President said that against the backdrop of the ghastly crimes being committed and the ongoing genocide entering the penultimate phase of extermination, an indigenous explosion within IIOJ&K, not “abetted” by Pakistan, cannot be ruled out. »
