Srinagar, August 31 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar-Leh highway has been closed for civilians with immediate effect amid fresh standoff between the troops of the Chinese and Indian armies in Ladakh.

The highway has been closed in view of what the Indian Army claimed fresh provocative military movements by the Chinese troops. It added that the road will remain open only for the defence forces and vehicles.

Earlier, as per a statement by the Indian Army, China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) soldiers have made fresh ‘provocative military movements’ on the southern bank of Pangong Tso on 29-30 August. »

The Pakistan’s flag unfurled on the roof of the man’s house in Shipra village, according to the video that went viral on social media platforms. »

Srinagar, August 31 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, unknown persons lobbed a grenade on Indian forces near Azad Gunj bridge  in Baramulla district, today.

Six persons were injured in the grenade attack, which police said missed the target and exploded on roadside. The troops have cordoned off the whole area and are conducting search operations. The injured were shifted to nearby hospital for treatment. »

Srinagar, August 31 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami, a constituent of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), has strongly condemned the use of brute force and vandalism of properties by Indian forces on Aashura processions in Srinagar and other areas.

A spokesman of the Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government had deprived Kashmiris of religious freedom, among other basic freedoms and had turned Kashmir into another Karbala.

He said India has banned Muharram processions in the territory for the last 30 years but Kashmiris do not heed Indian restrictions and take to the streets without any fear to participate in the mourning processions. »

Islamabad, August 31 (KMS): Bhartiya Janta Party led India’s fascist government has issued some 430,000 new domicile certificates in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir despite the coronavirus pandemic.

The data was given by Paris-based international news agency, AFP. It further revealed that it is unclear how many of the 430,000 certificates have been issued to people from outside and how many to original residents of the occupied territory.

AFP pointed out that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is changing IIOJK’s residency laws for the first time since 1947, in a bid to snuff out any challenge to the occupied territory. »

ISLAMABAD, August 31 (KMS): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has paid rich tributes to the youth who were recently martyred by the Indian troops and expressed solidarity and sympathy with their families.

The tributes were paid to the martyred youth at a meeting of the APHC-AJK held in Islamabad, today.

Addressing the meeting, the Hurriyat leaders deplored that India was continuously killings innocent youth in the occupied territory even during the holy month of Muharram and the global epidemic. »

Jammu, August 31 (KMS): In what testifying the fact the Modi led fascist Indian government is getting impatient to change the demography of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir as soon as possible, New Delhi has suspended a Jammu-based administrative officer on the charge of using delaying tactics in issuance of Domicile Certificates to the applicants, mostly outsiders.

Tehsildar Jammu, Ravi Shankar has been suspended and attached in the office of Divisional Commissioner, Jammu.

The reason given for the suspension and attachment of the officer, Ravi Shankar, is “the dereliction of duties involving disobedience and very poor performance in the issuance of the Domicile Certificates to the applicants causing huge suffering and inconvenience to the general public.” »

Srinagar, August 31 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, scores of mourners were injured and many others detained as Indian troops fired bullets and pellets to break up Aashoora processions in Srinagar and adjoining areas.

According to Kashmir Media Service, since early morning on Sunday, hundreds of personnel of Indian Army, police and Central Reserve Police Force were deployed to prevent people from assembling and taking out traditional Aashoora processions, marking the martyrdom anniversary of the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions in the plains of Karbala. Wearing full battle gear, the forces had sealed all lanes and bylanes connecting interior parts of Zadibal with the main road. »

New Delhi, August 31 (KMS): Thousands of Kashmiris illegally detained after the India’s move of August 5, 2019, are at high risk of corona infection for being imprisoned in overcrowded jails of India.

The latest data by the Delhi-based National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) reveals that these jails have housed 4.78 lakh prisoners against the actual capacity of 4.03 lakh.

Total number of prisons in India were 1,361, 1,339 and 1,350 at the end of 2017, 2018 and 2019, respectively. The occupancy rates during the period rose steadily at 115.1 per cent, 117.6 per cent and 118.5 per cent, respectively. »
