Prof Butt praises Majeed Butt’s services for Kashmir cause


Srinagar, September 06 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, senior Hurriyat leader, Professor Abdul Ghani Butt and Musadiq Aadil visited the residence of Kashmiri scholar, Abdul Majeed Butt in Sopore, today, to express condolence with his family over his death.

Abdul Ghani Butt speaking on the occasion paid glowing tributes to Abdul Majeed Butt and praised him for his services towards Kashmir liberation movement.

He said that it were the great sacrifices of the people of Kashmir which raised the Kashmir dispute at international level. If world wants and needs peace it has to put pressure on India to resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute according to the wishes of the people of Kashmir, he added.

Professor Abdul Ghani Butt maintained that peace was imperative for development but in presence of disputes peace couldn’t be achieved. He said that settlement of the lingering Kashmir dispute through dialogue was vital for bringing peace and progress in the region.

A delegation of Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement and Voice of Victims also visited the residence of late Abdul Majeed Butt to express solidarity with his family. The delegation comprising Abdul Qadeer Dar, Javid Ahmad, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Shabbir Ahmad and Ali Mohammad.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front in a statement also expressed grief over the sad demise of Abdul Majeed Butt.
