Srinagar, September 10 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has demanded immediate and unconditional release of all illegally detained Kashmiris lodged in various jails of the territory and India.

The Hurriyat forum expressed serious concern over the miserable plight of thousands of Kashmiri prisoners including Hurriyat leaders, activists and youth lodged in Tihar, Kot Bhalwal, Amphala, Jodhpur, Agra, Haryana and various other jails of IIOJK and India or have been under house arrest before and after August 05, 2019, especially in times of COVID-19. It said that these prisoners were being victimized for their political ideology. »

Islamabad, September 10 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, people belonging to different walks of life have sought urgent intervention of the UN to resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute to mitigate their sufferings.

Talking to Kashmir Media Service over phone from Srinagar, different people including Hurriyat leaders, political activists, human rights defenders, students and traders, wishing anonymity to avoid reprisal from the Indian authorities, said that the UN needed to wake up and fulfill its obligations towards the Kashmiris. They said that the Kashmir dispute should be discussed threadbare during the upcoming 75th summit of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) being held in New York from 15th to 30th of this month. »

Srinagar, September 10 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Youth Social Forum Chairman, Umar Aadil Dar, has said that the unresolved Kashmir dispute posed serious threat to the regional and global peace.

Umar Aadil Dar in a statement issued in Srinagar said that if the Kashmir dispute remained unresolved it might lead to the biggest human catastrophe in the world. He said Kashmir is not merely a territorial dispute between the two neighbouring countries but an issue pertaining to the future of millions of Kashmiris. »

Srinagar, September 10 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian police arrested two innocent Kashmiri youth in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district, today.

The police arrested the youth identified as Waseem Irshad Gabroo and Meraraj-ud-Din Wani after stopping a car, they were travelling in, at a checkpoint in Drugmulla area of the district. The police labeled them as over-ground workers of a mujahid organization.

Srinagar, September 10 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, in yet another attempt to divert the attention of people particularly youth of the territory from the ongoing freedom movement, the Indian Army has launched the first community radio station in Islamabad district of South Kashmir.

Radio Raabta – dil se dil tak – has been set up at Islamabad high ground and the studio is housed inside a garrison. The Indian Army is planning to launch another such station in Shopian district. »

Srinagar, September 10 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami, a constituent of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, has expressed grave concern over the Indian government’s nefarious plan to promote Devanagari script, written from left to right.

A Tehreek-e-Wahdat spokesman in a statement issued from Srinagar said that the fascist Indian government of Bhartia Janata Party was plotting to rob the Kashmiri Muslims of their identity, culture and language. He said, the BJP is very much in conflict with Urdu and Kashmiri which are written in Nasta’liq script. The BJP, he added, wants to attack the Kashmiri language by introducing Devanagari script in disputed Jammu and Kashmir. »

Srinagar, September 10 (KMS): Jammu and Kashmir International Forum for Justice Human Rights Chairman, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, submitted a detailed petition before India’s National Human Rights Commission in New Delhi regarding the booking of 10 Kashmiri youth under draconian law, Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), for playing a cricket match in Shopian district.

10 youth including nine local cricketers and brother of a martyred youth, Syed Ruban, who organised the cricket match in the district on Thursday were booked under the black law. »

New Delhi, September 10 (KMS): The Delimitation Commission set up by the Modi government to redraw constituencies of Indian parliament and local assembly in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has completed data collection process even as it is yet to visit the territory to interact with people.

Officials told media that the Commission has completed data collection and is preparing a framework to carve out assembly constituencies on the basis of the 2011 census. »
