Srinagar, September 13 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami (TWI), a constituent of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), has expressed grave concern over the growing Indian atrocities on innocent Kashmiris.

The Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami said this during a meeting held at its central office in Budgam. The Vice Chairman of the organization, Wajid Ali, chaired the meeting.

The participants of the meeting said that the Kashmir policy of the Narendra Modi-led Indian fascist government was nothing but oppression. They said that the BJP government had crossed all the limits of atrocities on innocent Kashmiris. Jammu and Kashmir, they said, is a globally recognized disputed territory, a large part of which had been occupied by India at gunpoint. It was said in the meeting that India was violating international laws and regulations in Kashmir.

It was said in the meeting that the cruel treatment meted out by the Hindutva government of Narendra Modi against the Kashmiris would lead to nothing but failure.

The participants said that the manner in which the mourners raised their voices during Muharram against India while walking on the path of Husseinism was commendable.

It was said in the meeting that according to the constitution of the organization, elections are held every two years for the office-bearers of Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami. However, elections could not be held this year due to the coronavirus epidemic.

The participants of the meeting unanimously decided to hold the elections on October 4, in which the Chairman, vice Chairman, General Secretary and other office-holders will be elected.

The meeting was attended among others by Khadim Hussain, Wajid Ali, Ali Mohammad, Mohammad Maqbool Magami, Gulshan Abbas, Shaheen Abbas, Shahid Ali, Shabbir Ahmed Dar, Imtiaz Bihar, Qasim Ali and Fayyaz Ahmed.
