Killing of innocent Kashmiris by Indian troops in IIOJK denounced

Srinagar, September 17 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have strongly denounced the killing of innocent Kashmiris including a woman and the murder of a youth in custody by Indian troops and police in Srinagar and Sopore areas.

The troops martyred four Kashmiris including a woman, Kausar Jan, during a cordon and search operation in Batamaloo area of Srinagar, today. Indian police killed a youth, Irfan Ahmed, in custody in Tujjer Sharif area of Sopore, the other day.

APHC leader and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Muzahamat, Bilal Siddiqui, in a statement in Srinagar said that Indian troops had been involved in extrajudicial and custodial killing of youth in the occupied territory during the past over seven decades. This is the true face of Indian colonial state which has unleashed a reign of terror in IIOJK to coerce the brave masses to give up the path of resistance and surrender their dream of freedom, he said. He appealed to the UN to take action against India for gross human rights violations by its troops in the occupied territory.

Hurriyat leaders, Shabbir Ahmed Dar, Ghulam Nabi Waseem and Yasmeen Raja, in a joint statement strongly denounced the killings. They said that heinous crimes being perpetrated by Indian troops in IIOJK must be investigated by some international agency to bring the perpetrators to book. India by these terror tactics will never succeed in its nefarious designs of suppressing the Kashmiris’ just freedom movement and they will take the mission of their martyrs to its logical, they added.

The Chairman of Islamic Political Party, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, in a statement in Srinagar deplored that trigger-happy Indian forces’ personnel were given a freehand to kill innocent Kashmiris. He appealed to the UN and world human rights bodies to take cognizance of the Indian state terrorism in IIOJK and initiate measures to save the Kashmiris from the Indian brutalities.

The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Youth Social Forum, Umar Aadil Dar, in a statement paid glowing tributes to the martyrs. He also welcomed the UN human rights Chief, Michelle Bachelet’s statement in which she expressed concern over human rights violations by Indian troops and police in IIOJK. Meanwhile, JKYSF General Secretary, Zubair Mir, visited the residence of illegally detained Hurriyat leader, Sarjan Barkati, and expressed solidarity with his family.

Hurriyat leader, Javaid Ahmad Mir, in his statement strongly denouncing the killings urged the UN to fulfill its responsibility regarding resolution of the Kashmir dispute to save the Kashmiris from Indian brutalities. He also paid rich tributes to the martyrs and said that their sacrifices will not be allowed to go waste.

Hurriyat leader, Jahangir Ghani Butt, while addressing a meeting at Wazirbagh in Srinagar condemned the killing of innocent Kashmiris in Srinagar and Sopore. He said Kashmir is a disputed territory recognized by United Nations Security Council so this institution has a moral duty towards Kashmir and has to stop grave human rights violations in IIOJK. He said the Kashmiris will continue their struggle to achieve their goal of freedom till complete success.

A spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League in a statement in Srinagar deplored that extrajudicial killings of innocent Kashmiris had been an order of the day for long due to the impunity given to the Indian forces’ personnel under draconian laws. He said that killings and other atrocities by Indian troops and police would not deter the Kashmiri people from continuing their struggle for securing freedom from India.

Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami spokesman in a statement in Srinagar said that the Modi government had given free hand to its forces to kill unarmed Kashmiris through fake encounters and inhumane torture during custody. He urged the world community to stop India from committing genocide of Kashmiris. The spokesman paid rich tributes to the martyrs and expressed solidarity with their families.

The Patron of Paervan-e-Wilayat, Sibt-e-Shabir Qummi, in a statement in Srinagar paid homage to the martyrs of Srinagar and Sopore. He deplored that Indian forces were committing genocide of Kashmiris. He said that India was trying to mislead the United Nations but the ground situation in the territory was indicative of its state terrorism and destruction. He appealed to the UN to formulate an effective strategy to stop Indian brutalities against the Kashmiris.

Jammu and Kashmir Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi spokesman in a statement appealed to world human rights organizations to pay attention to egregious human rights violations by Indian troops in IIOJK. He paid glowing tributes to the martyrs.

Meanwhile, the Convener of AJK Chapter of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq-led Hurriyat, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, in a statement in Islamabad denounced in strong terms the brutal killing of innocent Kashmiris by Indian troops in Srinagar and Sopore. He said thousands of innocent Kashmiris, including women and children, have been martyred by Indian forces in fake encounters and custody. He said that Indian state terrorism would not be able to break the will of the Kashmiris to secure their inalienable right to self-determination. He welcomed the recent statement of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights on Kashmir. The international community must take immediate cognizance of the worsening human rights situation in IIOJK and hold India accountable for its serious crimes against humanity in the territory, he added.

The Acting Chairman of Democratic Freedom Party, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, in a statement in Islamabad strongly condemned the killing of innocent people by Indian troops in IIOJK. He urged the international community to take serious note of Indian brutalities in the territory and bring those involved in such serious crimes to book.

Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, Syed Aijaz Rehmani, in a statement in Islamabad, paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Sopore and Batamaloo and expressed solidarity with their families. He reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue the ongoing freedom struggle till it reaches its logical conclusion.

The Chairman of Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU), Ali Raza Syed, in a statement in Brussels deplored the ruthless acts of state terrorism by Indian troops and police personnel in IIOJK. He said, Indian occupational forces were involved in crimes against humanity in the occupied territory. He urged the international community to conduct an international independent investigation under supervision of the UN into the crimes perpetrated by Indian forces in IIOJK. Ali Raza Syed also paid rich tributes to the people of Kashmir who are struggling for the last over seven decades for the liberation of their motherland from the Indian illegal occupation.
