Anti-India sit-in protest, rally held in Muzaffarabad

Srinagar, September 18 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq-led Hurriyat forum and other pro-freedom leaders have strongly denounced the custodial murder of a youth in Sopore and brutal killing of a woman and three other youth in Srinagar by Indian police and troops.

A youth, Irfan Ahmed was murdered in custody by Indian police in Tujjer Sharief area of Sopore while a woman and three youth were brutally killed by Indian troops in Batamaloo area of Srinagar. »

Srinagar, September 18 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian Army has admitted that three youth killed by its troops during a cordon and search operation in Shopian were civilians who hailed from Rajouri district of Jammu.

The Indian Army in a statement issued, today, said, a high-level Court of Inquiry set up by it into the July 18 operation at Amshipora in Shopian has concluded, bringing out certain prima facie evidence indicating that during the operation, powers vested under the black law, Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), were exceeded. »

Srinagar, September 18 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Youth Social Forum, Umar Aadil Dar, has welcomed the UN Chief’s statement in which he asked India and Pakistan to resolve the Kashmir dispute peacefully.

Umar Aadil Dar in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Kashmir besides being an international dispute is also a human problem and it is the moral and constitutional responsibility of the international community to resolve it without further delay.” »

Muzaffarabad, September 18 (KMS): The International Forum for Justice and Human Rights Jammu and Kashmir organised an anti-India sit-in protest in Muzaffarabad, today.

The protest was held at Burhan Wani Shaheed Chowk in Muzaffarabad against the stepped up Indian state terrorism in IIOJK including custodial killing of a youth, Irfan Ahmed, in Sopore and the killing of three youth and a woman in Srinagar.

Kashmiri children injured by Indian forces firing pellets in KashmirOn 28 August 2020, Indian forces in Srinagar opened fire with “pellet guns” on a peaceful religious procession. More than forty people were wounded while several were blinded. As usual, Pakistan protested vehemently. As usual, Indians responded on Twitter with triumphalism and aggression — if you don’t want to get shot, they said, don’t come out on the streets. And as usual, the world watched in silence.

It was not always so. India first started using pellet-firing shotguns against the Kashmiris in 2010 but the matter only hit international prominence in 2016 when protests following the death of Burhan Wani resulted in thousands of injuries, the blinding of hundreds and the deaths of over 70 people. The Guardian, for example, published a story asking if Kashmir represented “the world’s first mass blinding.” Even Indians were rocked by a viral series of pictures showing the distorted faces of celebrities. »

Srinagar, September 18 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has paid rich tributes to prominent martyred freedom leader, Aijaz Ahmed Dar, on his 32nd martyrdom anniversary.

Aijaz Dar was martyred by Indian troops on this day in 1988.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, said that Aijaz Ahmad Dar dedicated his life for the freedom movement and even made the ultimate sacrifice for this noble cause. He said that the people of Kashmir would never forget his services and sacrifices in the ongoing liberation movement. »

Srinagar, September 18 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq-led Hurriyat forum has expressed shock and grief at another gruesome killing by Indian troops in the territory.

Hurriyat forum in a statement issued in Srinagar deplored that after the killing of a 24-year-old youth from Sopore in police custody, a 45-year-old woman from Batamaloo, Kauser Sofi, was killed by Indian troops.

It said that the incidents of killing of innocent Kashmiris by the Indian forces’ personnel continued unabated for the past thirty years.

Welcoming the statement of UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, in which he reiterated his stance on the resolution of Kashmir dispute, the Hurriyat forum said that peaceful resolution of the dispute could end human rights violations in IIOJK besides bringing prosperity and development in the entire south Asian region.

Islamabad, September 18 (KMS): The Hurriyat-AJK leaders have paid rich tributes to the late Kashmiri scholar, Engineer Abdul Majeed Butt. Engineer Abdul Majeed recently passed away in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

A condolence reference was held at the office of APHC-AJK in Islamabad for late Engineer Abdul Majeed Butt.

Addressing the reference, the Hurriyat leaders said that Abdul Majeed Butt had dedicated his life for the Kashmir freedom movement. They said that the deceased was a highly educated as well as a noble man. »
