With no internet on mobile networks, Kashmir militants go back to using  satellite phonesSrinagar, October 03 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian troops continued massive cordon and search operations across the territory, subjecting the residents to torture and harassment.

The troops continued to carry out their violent operations in different areas of Srinagar, Badgam, Ganderbal, Kupwara, Bandipore, Baramulla, Shopian, Pulwama, Islamabad, Kulgam, Poonch, Kishtwar, Doda, Ramban and Rajouri. The residents of these areas told media that the Indian forces’ personnel barge into the residential houses, harass the inmates and vandalize the household goods. They said the troops have also arrested several youth from different areas during the past few days. »

Srinagar, October 03 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami (TWI), a constituent of APHC, has appreciated the Muslim Shia community of Kargil district for demanding the restoration of pre-August 5 status of Ladakh.

A spokesman of the Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Indian intelligence agencies had recently sent a so-called Shia cleric to Kargil to pacify the tempers of the Shia Muslims against the illegal and unilateral Indian move of August 5. He added that they told the cleric categorically that they will never accept the Indian decision to separate Ladakh from rest of IIOJK. »

The Babri Masjid was demolished in broad daylight in Ayodhya on December 6, 1992 and the Indian court has acquitted all the 32 leading people involved in the case. Prominent among those acquitted included former deputy Prime Minister, L K Advani, former minister M M Joshi and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh. »

Srinagar, October 03 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, eleven months after repeal of his illegal detention under draconian law, Public Safety Act (PSA), Indian police have initiated the process of taking Kashmiri businessman, Mubeen Shah, into custody and attachment of his properties.

The police had registered a case against Mubeen Shah in June this year over his purported Facebook post.

The former President of Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mubeen Shah, is based in Malaysia where he runs his handicrafts business. He used to visit IIOJK once a year. »

Srinagar, October 03 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, senior Hurriyat leader, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, has said that the Kashmiri people will continue their ongoing freedom struggle despite Indian state terrorism.

Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori addressing a gathering in Srinagar said that the sacrifices rendered by the Kashmiri people for the liberation of their homeland from Indian subjugation had been a glorious chapter in history.

He paid rich tributes to the Kashmiri martyrs including Ghulam Muhammad Bulla, S Hameed Wani, Sheikh Abdul Aziz, Rasheed Shaukat Wani, Nazir Ahmed Wani, Abdul Salam Rajpuri and Khalil-ur-Rehman. He reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to take the freedom struggle to its logical conclusion. »

A joint statement issued in Srinagar by Kashmir Editors Guild, Jammu and Kashmir Editors Forum, Kashmir Press Association, Kashmir Press Club, Kashmir Working Journalists Association, Jammu and Kashmir Working Journalist Association, Kashmir National Television Journalist Association and Kashmir Journalists Corps said it has become a routine for diverse elements across all the political and ideological thoughts to pass judgement on the Kashmir media and eventually, make it the punching bag to suit their ends. »

Entire nyoma unit quits party

Ladakh, October 03 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, in a major setback to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in ongoing elections to Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Leh, its entire unit of Nyoma block resigned from the party.

The party members resigned in protest against denial of mandate to Ishey Spalzang, President of the block, who was nominated by the unit for the candidature of Councilor from Nyoma. »

Srinagar, October 03 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the bodies of three labourers from Rajouri, who were killed in a fake encounter by Indian Army in Shopian in July, were exhumed and handed over to their families at Gantamulla in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

An official told media that the bodies of the three youth were exhumed and handed over to the families.

On July 18, Indian Army had killed three youth during a cordon and search operation in Amshipora area of Shopian and passed them on as “unidentified militants”. However, the victims were later identified by their families through the pictures released by the army as Imtiyaz Ahmed, Abrar Ahmed and Muhammad Ibrar from Rajouri, who had gone to the Kashmir Valley in search of work. »

Islamabad, Oct 03 (KMS): While expressing his deep concern over reports of procurement of one million multi-mode hand grenades by India’s Defense Ministry, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood said that war-monger Modi-RSS regime piling up arms and ammunition to use them against defenceless people of Illegally Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Media reports suggest that India’s Defence Ministry has signed a Rs 4,000 million contract for procurement of new one million multi-mode hand grenades to further equip the Indian army, a major chunk of which is deployed in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. »
