The webinar, scheduled for Thursday  (October 22), will offer an overview of the long-standing conflict, which India’s current Hindu nationalist government has escalated.

Hosted by Canada Foreign Policy Institute, guest speakers include Haley Duschinski, Associate Professor of Anthropology and Graduate Director of the Center for Law, Justice and Culture at Ohio University. She will discuss human rights, militarization, impunity and the ongoing siege of IIOJK. »

Srinagar, October 20 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU) has once again demanded the release of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq from arbitrary house arrest to resume his religious and social activities in the territory.

Expressing strong resentment over the continued house arrest of its chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq who remains incarcerated since August 5, 2019, the MMU said he has been under arbitrary house detention for the past fifteen months. »

Islamabad, October 20 (KMS): Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League & former Convener of APHC-AJK, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has strongly condemned the sealing of the Daily Kashmir Times office in Srinagar.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement issued in Islamabad said earlier, the authorities locked the head office of the newspaper in Jammu in a bid to choke the voice of an independent journalism and execute vindictive policies of the Hindutva regime of Modi to prevent journalists from independent thinking. »

Srinagar, October 20 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has strongly condemned the brutal actions of Modi-led fascist India against media outlets and journalist fraternity.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar strongly reacted to the sealing of the office of English daily, Kashmir Time, by Indian authorities in Srinagar and described the act as an attempt to silence the local press in the occupied territory. He said that such an act is part of India’s nefarious designs to muzzle media and press freedom in the territory. »

Srinagar, October 20 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred five more Kashmiri youth in Shopian and Pulwama districts.

The youth were killed by Indian troops during cordon and search operations (CASOs) in the two districts. Two youth were killed by the troops during an overnight military operation in Melhora area of Shopian, while another three were killed in Kakripora area of Pulwama district.

On the other hand, two Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were injured in an attack on Srinagar-Shopian road in Pulwama, police official told media men. »

Srinagar, October 20 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Political Movement, Khawaja Firdous, has said that India in violation of international law is changing the demography of Jammu and Kashmir.

Khawaja Firdous in a statement issued in Srinagar said that since August 5 last year, India has been violating international law by providing domicile certificates to a large number of non-Kashmiris. He said that under the black laws, the Indian Army not only brutally kills innocent Kashmiri youth on a daily basis but also subjects them to torture in detention centers. »

New Delhi, October 20 (KMS): Existential threat looming large on the horizon for Muslims in India as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President JP Nadda has made it clear that the controversial anti-Muslim law, Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), will be implemented ‘very soon’.

Addressing a rally in Siliguri, West Bengal, Nadda said that the party was committed to implementing CAA.

“Due to COVID-19 pandemic, implementation of CAA got delayed. But as the situation is slowing improving, work has started and rules are now being framed. It (CAA) will be implemented very soon,” he added. »
