Srinagar, October 29 (KMS): A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader along with two workers was shot dead in an attack in Y K Pora area of Qazigund in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Thursday evening.

The slain BJP leader has been identified as Yuva Morcha General Secretary Kulgam, Fida Hussain Itoo.

An official told media that unknown attackers fired upon three persons in Y K Pora, one of them died on the spot while two others were shifted to emergency hospital in Qazigund, who succumbed to their injuries in the hospital. The remaining two dead were identified as Umar Hajjam and Haroon Baig. »

Srinagar, October 29 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, having failed in crushing the freedom sentiment of Kashmiri people despite the use of brutal tactics including killings, arrests and cordon and search operations, the Modi-led fascist Indian government has fully launched its so-called probe agency, National Investigation Agency, to carry out crackdowns on dissent including media outlets, journalists and NGO offices.

An analytical report released by Kashmir Media Service, citing the blatant NIA raids on Greater Kashmir’s office and residences of HR activists Khurram Parvaiz and Parveena Ahangar and journalists in Srinagar said that the Indian actions were meant to browbeat those who refuse to toe the BJP’s line in IIOJK. »

Urges people to observe complete shutdown on Saturday

Srinagar, October 29 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has called for peaceful protests on Friday and complete shutdown on Saturday against new laws imposed by India that allow the non-Kashmiris to own land in the territory.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar reacting sharply to the colonial decision of New Delhi to grant land rights to outsiders in IIOJK appealed the brave people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh to resist this nefarious move tooth and nail.

He termed this decision as the worst act of New Delhi’s colonial designs to force demographic change in IIOJK. He said since August 5th 2019, New Delhi has unleashed a battery of such colonial laws and decisions regarding IIOJK to deprive the residents of all political, social, economic, religious, educational, linguistic and cultural rights and now this fresh decision of land-grabbing speaks volumes about its murkier designs about the occupied territory. »

Srinagar, October 29 (KMS): Former IIOJK chief minister and National Conference (NC) vice President, Omar Abdullah Thursday lashed out at the Modi-led Indian government over “criminalizing dissent and branding those seeking protection of their honor and integrity as anti-nationals.”

Addressing party workers in a function at Nawa-e-Subha in Srinagar, he said New Delhi is compelling the “mainstream” politicians in IIOJ&K to call it a day. »

Islamabad, October 29 (KMS): The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League (JKPFL), Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has expressed grave concern over the new amended land laws in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir as a first step to grab immovable property of the inhabitants of the territory.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement in Islamabad said that Modi government illegally and in violations of the UN Charter, resolutions, international laws and Pak-India bilateral agreements divided IIOJK into two union territories and all the administrative officers and staff had been sent from among the non-resident Indian citizens. »

Brussels, October 29 (KMS): The Chairman of Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU), Ali Raza Syed, has strongly condemned the raids conducted by the Indian authorities on offices and residences of prominent human rights activities including Khurram Pervaiz and Perveena Ahangar in Srinagar.

India’s National Investigating Agency (NIA) conducted raids at multiple locations in Srinagar including the residences of human rights activists, Khurram Pervaiz, the Chair of Asian Federation Against Involuntary Disappearances (AFAD) and Programme Coordinator of Jammu Kashmir Coalition of Civil Society (JKCCS) and office of Association of Parents for Disappeared Persons (APDP) headed by Perveena Ahangar as well as offices and residences of some journalists, media organizations and NGOs. »

Srinagar, October 29 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Youth Social Forum General Secretary, Zubair Hassan Mir, visited the residence of a Kashmiri martyr, Showkat Ahmed, , who was recently martyred by Indian troops in Tral area of Pulwama district.

Addressing mourners, Zubair paid rich tributes to Showkat and other martyrs saying the sacrifices rendered by the Kashmiri martyrs would never go waste.

Zubair Mir condemned the fresh NIA raids and said, “Every segment of the society right from press to business is being targeted and subjected to harassment.These raids won’t deter our motive, and we won’t desist from taking the struggle to its logical end.” »

Naqshbandi demands release of detained Hurriyat leaders | Kashmir Media ServiceIslamabad, October 29 (KMS): The Convener of AJK-chapter of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq-led Hurriyat forum, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, has categorically rejected Indian government’s illegal amendments in land ownership laws in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir that paved the way for non-Kashmiris to own land in the territory.

Syed Faiz Naqshbandi in a meeting of the forum in Islamabad said Jammu and Kashmir is a UN recognised disputed territory. He maintained that India’s illegal and unilateral actions of 5th August 2019, and subsequent measures, particularly the domicile law and now the land ownership laws, are aimed at changing urgently the demographic structure of IIOJK and to convert the Kashmiri Muslims into a minority in their own land. »
