Muzaffarabad, October 31 (KMS): The Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir has said that the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have rejected India’s new land law.
Pasban-e-Hurriyat leaders addressing a press conference in Muzaffarabad, today, reiterated that people of IIOJK wanted plebiscite in accordance with the UN resolutions.
They stated that massive public protests against the Indian state terrorism in IIOJK would be held on November 17 in the capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The speakers said that the Indian government ended the special status of the territory on August 5, 2019 and imposed military siege. “State subject was the sole identity of people of IIOJK which was snatched from them and domiciles were being issued to Indian citizens to change Muslim majority status of the territory into a minority”, they added.
They said, the Indian government has now enacted a cruel law allowing citizens of India to buy land in the disputed territory, which has caused great concern among the IIOJK people.
They appealed to the United Nations to stop India from imposing laws by force and demanded a referendum in Kashmir under the UN supervision.
The Chairman of Pasban-e-Hurriyat, Uzair Ahmad Ghazali, PPP leader, Shaukat Javed Mir, Vice Chairman of International Forum for Justice and Human Rights, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, President of Mustafa Welfare Society, Ateeq Ahmad Kayani, President of Al-Mustafa Committee, Ateeq-ur-Rehman Danish, Azmat Hayat Kashmiri and Usman Ali Hashim also addressed on the occasion.
