Srinagar, November 06 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Islamic Political Party has expressed grave concern over the grave human rights violations being perpetrated by Indian troops in the territory.

The spokesman of the Islamic Political Party in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the people of Kashmir wanted to decide their future through a referendum in accordance with the UN resolutions. He said that the Kashmiri people were facing severe difficulties due to unresolved Kashmir dispute. He added that India had illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir against which the Kashmiris were making great sacrifices. He said that during the last three decades, more than one lakh Kashmiris had sacrificed their lives for the Kashmir cause.

The spokesman said that instead of acknowledging the ground reality of Kashmir, India was pursuing a policy of suppressing the Kashmiris’ spirit of freedom through military might. He said that despite all its oppression, New Delhi had failed to suppress the Kashmiris’ liberation movement.

He paid rich tributes to the renowned Mujahid Commander, Dr Saifullah, who was recently martyred by Indian troops in Srinagar. He said that the great sacrifices of the Kashmiri martyrs would one day bring fruit. He also expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of Hurriyat activist, Abdul Hameed Hara alias Dr Haider, and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.

The spokesman called upon the international community to play a role in resolving the Kashmir dispute so that permanent peace could be established in the region.
