Islamabad, November 11 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, media is under a serious threat from Indian occupational forces was the finding of a report released by the Vienna-based International Press Institute (IPI) in the first quarter of the year 2020.

An analytical report released by Kashmir Media Service, today, said the media in IIOJK is facing state repression as it is being repeatedly targeted and vilified by Modi led fascist Indian regime. New Delhi is using different intimidating tactics to harass Kashmiri journalists and media house owners. Besides being booked under draconian laws for speaking truth, Indian probe agencies like National Investigation Agency and Enforcement Directorate frequently raid residences of IIOJK journalists and media outlets. »

Islamabad, November 11 (KMS): The Chairman of Kashmir Institute of International Relations (KIIR), Altaf Hussain Wani, while greeting the US president-elect Joe Biden and vice president-elect Kamala Harris on the historic win in the recent elections has expressed the hope that the new US administration will play a significant role in seeking a just and equitable solution to the Kashmir dispute.

In a felicitation letter addressed to Joe Biden the KIIR chief while referring to the US stance on the issue of Kashmir said that being a strong proponent of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination, the US has always supported a just settlement of the Kashmir dispute through peaceful means. He reminded the president-elect that it was under the direction of the-then President Harry Truman that the US ambassador to the UN, Ambassador Huston wrote the historic resolution that gave legitimacy to the Kashmir issue. He regrettably noted that India’s denial to grant the Kashmiris’ their birth right has thrown the region into a quagmire of uncertainty and violence that continue to take a heavy toll on the civilian population in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. »

Srinagar, November 11 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference expressed deep concern about the unabated killing of innocent youth by Indian troops in the territory.

The APHC General Secretary, Molvi Bashir Ahmed Irfani in a statement issued in Srinagar deplored that the people of the occupied territory are being brutally slaughtered to punish them for demanding their right to self-determination and the world community was acting as a silent spectator.

Molvi Bashir Ahmed Irfani condemned in the strongest terms the brutal killing of two innocent youth by Indian troops during a cordon and search operation in Kutpora area of Shopian, yesterday. He paid rich tributes to the martyrs and said that their blood would not go waste. He said that the troops in violation of privacy and sanctity of four walls during the military operation in the area misbehaved with women, the elders and children and subjected them to harassment. »

Srinagar, November 11 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, Shabbir Ahmed Dar, has said that Indian occupational forces are using lethal weapons, supplied by the so-called champions of human rights, against innocent Kashmiri youth.

Shabbir Ahmed Dar while paying tributes to the youth martyred by Indian troops in length and breadth of the territory said that they were the real heroes of this blood soaked freedom movement. »

J&K Bar Association asked to clarify stand on ties with India - New On NewsSrinagar, November 11 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the High Court Bar Association (HCBA) has formed an ad hoc committee and nominated advocate Nazir Ahmed Ronga as its convener after the occupation authorities barred it from holding elections.

HCBA Election Commission vice-president advocate Muhammad Abdullah Pandit in a statement in Srinagar said that the adhoc committee would act till the holding of elections. »

Srinagar, November 11 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian authorities rearrested Jammu and Kashmir Social Youth Forum leader, Asif Ali, under black law, Public Safety Act, after a local court ordered his release on bail, today.

Asif Ali who is Kulgam district president of JKSYF was brought before a local court, today, which ordered his release from 8-month’s illegal detention. However, Indian police rearrested him after invoking the draconian law against him. »

Jammu, November 11 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its first list of 72 candidates for the upcoming so-called elections to District Development Council (DDC) in the territory.

The BJP announced 35 candidates for the Jammu region and 37 for the Kashmir valley, a party spokesperson said.

The list was finalised at a high-level meeting held at the party’s headquarters in Jammu and chaired by BJP IIOJK-chapter chief Ravinder Raina. »

Islamabad, November 11 (KMS): The President of Azad Jammu & Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan, has said an Islamic renaissance is the only solution to the plight of the Muslims of South Asia in general and of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) in particular.

He said this while addressing the international Kashmir Convention organized by the World Kashmir Forum (WKF).  Sardar Masood Khan was presiding over the international convention. Giving a graphic picture of occupied Kashmir, Sardar Masood Khan questioned what would happen if [God forbid] a brutal  force of 900,000 had invaded one of the Pakistani cities. »

Srinagar, November 11 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the family and relatives of a missing Indian Army soldier staged a protest at Press Enclave in Srinagar saying that the authorities are showing no interest in locating him dead or alive.

Mystery shrouds the disappearance of the Army soldier, Shakir Manzoor, even as updated unverified audio had surfaced on social media in which a person claimed to have killed the abducted soldier. »
