Srinagar, November 17 (KMS): Paris-based international media watchdog Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has nominated Kashmiri journalist and editor of The Kashmir Walla web portal, Fahad Shah, for 2020’s Prize for Courage.

The RSF unveiled the list of twelve journalists and media outlets from twelve countries for the 2020 RSF Press Freedom Awards in three categories – prize for Courage, Impact and Independence – to be awarded in Taipei on 8 December. »

Srinagar, November 17 (KMS): Coronavirus poses a grave threat to Kashmiri political detainees languishing in Indian jails.

An analytical report released by Kashmir Media Service said that Indian police arrested, at least, 15,000 people since August 05, 2019 till date. Majority of them were shifted to COVID-19 infected jails in India.

The report citing findings of the international human rights organizations and complaints of the detainees’ families said that thousands of Kashmiris languishing in Indian jails under fake cases are even denied medical facilities. As pathetic conditions in Indian prisons make Kashmiri prisoners more vulnerable to COVID-19, New Delhi is not listening to world calls to release them. »

Jammu, November 17 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, various political and social organizations have announced to hold an anti-India protest march in Jammu, tomorrow, to condemn imposition of new land and domicile laws by Modi-led fascist Indian government in the territory.

The announcement for anti-India march was made during a meeting organized by Jammu and Kashmir United Peace Movement in Jammu. It was attended by senior leaders of Jammu-based political and social organizations. »

Srinagar, November 17 (KMS): Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference Chairman Shabbir Ahmad Dar has strongly condemned the ongoing Indian state terrorism in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Shabbir Ahmad Dar in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, said the demolition of residential structures of Gujjar Bakerwals on the higher reaches is manifestation of the worst violation of human rights. “The place is a green zone marked by the forest and pollution control departments decades ago,” he said while reacting to the media reports about the demolition of houses and huts of Muslim Bakarwals in upper reaches of Pahalgam in Islamabad district. »

Modi wants to hand over land to capitalist friends, Mehbooba

Srinagar, November 17 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Modi led fascist Indian government has demolished scores of houses, huts and sheds belonging to Gujjar and Bakarwal communities of Muslims in Pahalgam, Islamabad and Bhatandi and other areas in Jammu to grab their land to settle Hindu outsiders.

The inhuman act against IIOJK Gujjar and Bakarwal communities on part of Modi government was exposed during a visit by former Chief Minister and PDP President Mehbooba Mufti to upper reaches of Pahalgam in South Kashmir.

“Whom do you want to give this land and why are you after these Gujjars and Bakarwals,” Mehbooba Mufti asked during an address to the affected Muslim communities in Pahlgam. »

Beijing, November 17 (KMS): China has urged India and Pakistan to resolve the dispute over Jammu and Kashmir properly and peacefully in accordance with the UN Charter, relevant Security Council resolutions and bilateral agreements.

China’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Zhao Lijian addressing a news conference in Beijing said, “China’s position on the Kashmir issue is consistent and clear. It is an issue left over from history between India and Pakistan which should be resolved properly and peacefully in accordance with the UN Charter, relevant Security Council resolutions and bilateral agreements.” »

Srinagar, November 17 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, APHC leader and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Political Movement, Khawaja Firdous, has said that the so-called District Development Council elections have no worth in the disputed territory.

In a statement issued in Srinagar, he said India has always betrayed the international community by holding so-called elections in occupied Kashmir. He added that these elections could not affect the disputed status of the Kashmir issue and India was doing so in violation of relevant UN resolutions and international law.

The APHC leader said that in the guise of these elections, India is in fact trying to divert the attention of the international community from the atrocities, massacres and serious human rights violations, committed by its troops in Kashmir. »

Jammu, November 17 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM), Mir Shahid Saleem, has expressed serious concern over the escalation of tension between Pakistan and India on the Line of Control.

Mir Shahid Saleem talking to reporters in Jammu condemned the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, for creating war hysteria on the LoC. He said that the relations between the two countries could not be normalized without the resolution of the Kashmir dispute. »

Srinagar, November 17 (KMS): Indian police arrested two Kashmiri youth in New Delhi on the fake charge of planning to attack important buildings, foreign hotels, embassies and religious places in the Indian capital.

The detained youth have been identified as Abdul Latif, 22, a resident of Doru Baramulla, and 20-year-old Ashraf Khatana, a resident of Hut Mulla, Kupwara in IIOJK. The youth were arrested by Delhi police special cell on Monday night.

Meanwhile, in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian troops continued cordon and search operations in Kulgam and Shopian districts. Earlier, two Indian police stations were attacked in the two districts.

The troops also conducted a search operation in Sopore town. They sealed all entry and exit points of Amergarh area in the town and conducted house-to-house searches.

London, November 17 (KMS): An All Parties Conference organized by Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK in London has reaffirmed the pledge to continue work with coordinated approach to expose Indian atrocities at the international level.

The conference was held in the backdrop of indiscriminate shelling by the Indian army on the ceasefire line which killed several civilians, injured 31 and destroyed livestock and houses worth millions of rupees. Representatives of all UK political parties & Human Rights groups participated in the All Parties Conference. The Conference was chaired by Fahim Kayani, President Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK and followed by guest speakers. »
