Ban on high speed internet service extended

Srinagar, November 27 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian troops have intensified cordon and search operations across the territory and arrested hundreds of people ahead of so-called District Development Councils and Panchayat elections.

The polling for the first phase of the eight-phased elections for DDC and vacant seats of panchayat is being held tomorrow. Indian troops and police personnel have been carrying on CASOs in Srinagar, Badgam, Ganderbal, Baramulla, Bandipora, Kupwara, Pulwama, Islamabad, Kulgam, Shopian, Doda, Kishtwar, Samba, Poonch, Rajouri and other areas of the territory for the past several days. The residents of these areas told media that the troops have arrested hundreds of people during these operations. People staged a demonstration against arrest of youth in Dargam area of Pulwama. Indian police during a raid at the house of Ummat-e-Islami Chairman, Qazi Ahmed Yasir, in Islamabad town, harassed and misbehaved with his family members. »

New Delhi, November 27 (KMS): A two-seater MiG-29K fighter jet of the Indian Navy crashed into the Arabian Sea in Goa.

One pilot has been rescued, while a search is on for a second missing pilot.

“A MiG-29K trainer aircraft operating at sea ditched at about 1700 hrs on November 26. One pilot has been recovered and search by air and surface units is in progress for the second pilot,” the Indian Navy said in a statement on Friday. An inquiry has been ordered into the crash, the Navy added. »

Srinagar, November 27 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Hurriyat forum Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq’s uncle, Molvi Ali Muhammad Jan, passed away in Srinagar, today, after a brief illness.

The deceased was the elder brother of prominent martyred Hurriyat leader, Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq.

Molvi Ali Muhammad Jan, a resident of Kursoo Rajbagh, was the grandson of Mirwaiz Maulana Ateequllah Shah and the elder son of Molvi Muhammad Amin. He was a pious, noble, kind-hearted and a man of character who spent his life in a much humble way.

Srinagar, November 27 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP-led authorities repealed Roshni Act to render Muslim communities particularly living in Jammu landless.

The residents of IIOJK told Kashmir Media Service that the Roshni Act was abrogated because through it mostly Muslim communities got ownership rights in Hindu-majority Jammu division.

They said, earth is shrinking for Muslim communities of Gujjars and Bakarwals after scrapping of Roshni Act. They said since BJP’s ascent to power, nomadic Muslim communities of IIOJK have faced violent evictions and attacks.

The locals said that the communalized rhetoric around land rights had heightened insecurities among Muslims in the occupied territory and they were sensing another 1947-like massacre of the Muslim community. »

Srinagar, November 27 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Hurriyat leader, Jahangir Ghani Butt, has said that Jammu and Kashmir is a disputed territory and so-called elections by India in the territory cannot be an alternative to the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.

Jahangir Ghani Butt addressing party workers and a delegation from Pulwama district in Srinagar urged the world community to put pressure on India to resolve the Kashmir dispute through the UN resolutions so that a permanent peace could be established in the region. »

Islamabad, November 27 (KMS): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter held a condolence meeting in Islamabad, today.

The participants of the meeting expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of the wife of senior Hurriyat leader and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen, Maulana Abbas Ansari.

Srinagar, November 27 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami has said that India is making vicious attempts to stoke sectarian discord in the territory through its agents to harm the Kashmiris’ liberation movement.

The Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the BJP-led Indian government had started using so-called Indian Muslim intellectuals and scholars to sabotage the Kashmiris’ indigenous movement.

He said that the Indian government had recently sent Kalb Jawad Naqvi, General Secretary of the Muslim Personal Law Board of India, to IIOJK for the nefarious purposes. During this visit, he was busy fanning sectarianism in the territory. He said that Kalb Jawad in a meeting with Indian puppet, Altaf Bukhari, talked about the welfare of Shia Muslims in IIOJK as if they were separate from others Muslims. »

Srinagar, November, 27 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Democratic Political Movement (DPM) has strongly condemned the arrest spree unleashed by the authorities ahead of the so-called DDC elections in the territory.

APHC leader and the DPM General Secretary, Peer Hilal Ahmad in a statement issued in Srinagar denounced the continued illegal detention of resistance leaders and imposition of restrictions on their political, social and religious activities by the occupation authorities.He deplored that IIOJK had been turned into an open prison where people were being denied all civil, political and other human rights guaranteed by UN Charter and Universal Declaration of Human Rights. »
