Srinagar, December 05 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, an extraordinary meeting of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) was held in Srinagar, today.

The meeting was presided over by APHC General Secretary, Molvi Bashir Ahmad Irfani.

After a threadbare discussion, it was decided to appoint Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar as Working Vice Chairman of the forum. The decision was taken to ensure smooth functioning of the APHC and make it more dynamic. It was decided that other appointments would be made in the coming days. »

Srinagar, December 05 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Hurriyat leader, Javaid Ahmed Mir, today, visited various hospitals and met with the relatives of Kashmiri political detainees.

Javaid Ahmed Mir in a statement issued after the visit said that parents of many detainees were on death beds but their sons had been continuously kept in jails by the occupation authorities without any justification.

He deplored that the Kashmiri political detainees were not provided adequate medical facility in jails, therefore, their health was deteriorating with each passing day. »

Srinagar, December 05 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, an Indian army soldier committed suicide in Srinagar, today.

The soldier, identified as Yogesh Kumar, committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle inside the headquarters located at Wazir Bagh in Srinagar.

The incident raised the number of such deaths among Indian troops and police personnel in IIOJK to 484 since January 2007.

Srinagar, December 05 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have said that the so-called elections in the territory can in no way be a substitute to the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.

Hurriyat leaders and organizations including Hilal Ahmed War, Bilal Siddiqui, Farida Bahenji, Jahangir Ghani Butt, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Political Movement, Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami and Ittehad-e-Islami in their statements issued in Srinagar said that India was frequently holding election dramas in IIOJK to mislead the international community about the Kashmir dispute and the ground situation of the territory. »

Srinagar, December 05 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, APHC leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Political Movement (DPM), Khawaja Firdous has said that India is using cheap tactics to suppress the voice of Kashmiris in the territory.

Khawaja Firdous in a statement issued in Srinagar said Indian troops and police personnel threaten Kashmiris and use the women to force people to cast their votes in the so-called District Development Council elections. »

Jammu, December 05 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Association (JKPA), Aaqib Wani, has said that holding of the so-called election drama never means that democracy prevails in the territory.

Aaqib Wani in a statement issued in Jammu said that by holding the so-called District Development Council elections, the occupation authorities wanted to mislead the world community about the prevailing situation in the territory. »

Srinagar, December 05 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Pakistani wives of Kashmiri youth staged a peaceful protest demonstration in Kupwara and urged the Indian government and the occupation authorities of the territory to take concrete steps for their dignified rehabilitation.

The protesting women assembled in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Kupwara and raised slogans against the occupation authorities for not redressing their grievances. They said that they had arrived in the Valley five years back with their Kashmiri husbands. »

The database, a work of John Ioannidis, Kevin Boyack and Jeroene Bass from the departments of Medicine, Epidemiology and Public Health and Biomedical Data Science, University of Stanford, US, has been published in the October issue of PLos Biology. It evaluated the global impact of the works of top scientists in the world. »
