Srinagar, January 19 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and other Hurriyat organizations have reiterated call for shutdown on Thursday to pay homage to over 50 innocent Kashmiris on the 31st anniversary of January 1990 Gaw Kadal massacre.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Gaw Kadal and other such massacres reminded the notorious Jalianwala carnage, perpetrated by the then British government in India. Senior Hurriyat leader, Ghulam Mohammad Khan Sopori, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party, Jammu and Kashmir National Front, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League and Jammu and Kashmir People’s Association in their statements termed the tragedy as the darkest chapter in the history of illegal occupation of the territory. They deplored that despite the passage of three decades, the victims were still awaiting justice. »

Srinagar, January 19 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the family of Ather Mushtaq Wani, a teenager who was killed in a fake encounter by Indian troops in Srinagar last month, held a protest in their native Bellow village in Pulwama district and demanded the return of his dead body.

Mushtaq Ahmad Wani, the father of the teenager, led the protest in which people from Bellow took part. He had appealed to the public earlier this week in a video message to assemble at the empty grave of his son at the village. »

Srinagar, January 19 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian troops have committed scores of brutal carnages, most of them in the month of January in the territory.

According to an analytical report released by Kashmir Media Service, today, in eight years starting 1990, as many as five major massacres left hundreds of persons dead and property worth crores in ruins.

On January 21, 1990, occupational troops slaughtered over 50 civilians in Gaw Kadal area of Srinagar, 25 on January 25, 1990 at Handwara, 60 on January 06, 1993 in Sopore town and 27 on January 27, 1994 in Kupwara. Memories of these bloodbaths are still fresh in Kashmiris’ minds as they are reminder of the criminal face of Hindutva forces. »

Islamabad, January 19 (KMS): Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, has said India’s aggressive designs against Pakistan will jeopardize the peace of the entire region.

In an interview with PTV, he said Pakistan has apprised the world community, including the United Nations, about the sinister motives of Modi-led government for its supremacy in the South Asian region. India, he said, is using the media as a tool to malign Pakistan through fabricated stories. »

Srinagar, January 19 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian government has constituted a committee for conducting the auction of 13 structures to facilitate the construction of separate colonies in the name of transit accommodation for Kashmiri Pandit employees in Baramulla district.

The committee is headed by Additional District Development Commissioner, Baramulla. The seven-member committee has been asked to fix the Reserve Price for the bid as per laid down norms before the auction of the structures. »

Srinagar, January 19 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a medium intensity earthquake jolted the territory on Tuesday evening.

The quake measuring 3.6 on Ritcher Scale shook the occupied territory at 9:13 pm. The epicenter of the earthquake in the depth of 5 kilometres was around 31 kilometres away from Gulmarg. »
