Srinagar, January 22 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, posters were put up in different areas of the Valley by Wariseen-e-Shuhada-e-Jammu and Kashmir (Heirs of the martyrs of Jammu and Kashmir) asking the people to observe complete strike on Indian Republic Day (26th January) and mark it as Black Day.

The posters pasted on walls, pillars and poles in different areas and the main gate of Srinagar’s historic Jamia Masjid, say that India has no right to claim that it is a democratic country because it has been continuously denying the democratic right of self-determination to the people of IIOJK for last over seven decades. »

Agra (India), January 22 (KMS): Twenty one Kashmiri political prisoners, presently lodged in various jails of Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, have been shifted to the high-security Agra jail.

On the orders of the Indian Home Ministry (MHA), the Kashmiri prisoners, most of them associated with veteran Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani, were shifted to Agra jail of UP.

These inmates were arrested in the wake of the revocation of special status of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir by Modi-led fascist regime in August 2019 and booked under black law Public Safety Act (PSA). »

Srinagar, January 22 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has appealed to the people to observe India’s Republic Day on January 26 as Black Day to protest against New Delhi’s continued denial of their right to self-determination.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar asked the people of IIOJK to observe complete shutdown and civil curfew on January 26 to convey the message to the world that they reject India’s illegal occupation of their soil. »

Srinagar, January 22 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian troops launched a cordon and search operation Srinagar, today.

The troops cordoned off Natipora area of Srinagar and conducted door-to-door searches. The operation continued till last reports came in.

The residents of the area said that the troops thoroughly checked the identity cards of the locals.

Islamabad, January 22 (MS): National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser on Friday said people and government of Pakistan condemned the atrocities committed on the innocent Kashmiris in strongest possible terms and reiterated unwavering support till just resolution of the Kashmir dispute.

Srinagar, January 22 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a soldier of Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) died of cardiac arrest at SMHS hospital in Srinagar.

Officials said that the soldier identified as Kajol Kumar Saha of 49 Battalion was admitted to the hospital after suffering heart attack. Kumar hailed from Indian state of West Bengal.

Washington, January 22 (KMS): The US President, Joe Biden, has nominated a Kashmiri-origin diplomat as Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights, a key State Department position, as the new administration takes over the country.

Uzra Zeya, who had quit the Foreign Service in 2018 in protest against the policies of the then US President, Donald Trump, as per a media report, has been nominated as part of key nominations for the Department of State.

Zeya served most recently as CEO and President of the Alliance for Peace-building, where she drew on over two decades of diplomatic experience in Near East, South Asian, European, human rights and multilateral affairs. »
