Complete shutdown in IIOJK on Indian Republic Day

Srinagar, January 26 (KMS): Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and the world over observed India’s Republic Day as Black Day, today, to send a loud and clear message to the world that they categorically reject illegal occupation of their motherland by India.

Call for the observance of the day was given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz-led Hurriyat forum and other Hurriyat leaders and organizations. The day was marked by a complete strike in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and anti-India demonstrations and rallies in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan and world capitals.

Strict restrictions coupled with suspension of Internet services were imposed by the Modi-led fascist Indian regime across Kashmir valley on Indian Republic Day, today. Sharpshooters were deployed atop high-rise buildings while vigil was kept through drones on the roads leading to a stadium in Srinagar, the main venue for the function. The troops carried out random searches in and around Lal Chowk and adjoining areas in Srinagar to prevent protests. Indian police arrested Hurriyat leader, Javaid Ahmad Mir, during a raid at his office in Srinagar. »

New Delhi, January 26 (KMS): The demonstrators, protesting against the agricultural reforms introduced by Modi government, hoisted Khalistani flag on famous Red Fort in New Delhi, on Indian Republic Day, today.

Violence has erupted all across Delhi after the protestors, majority of them Sikhs, entered from routes that were not permitted by the Delhi Police. Several people have been reportedly injured in the clashes between the protesters and the police.

The protesting farmers have also raised Khalistan flags during the rallies in other areas of New Delhi. »

Srinagar, January 26 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a Pakistani flag was hoisted on the main gate of Jamia Masjid in Srinagar even on Indian Republic Day, today.

While the people of IIOJK observed complete shutdown and marked India’s Republic Day as a Black Day, some youth hoisted a Pakistani flag on the main gate of the grand mosque, despite heavy deployment of Indian troops and paramilitary personnel.

The observance of the Indian Republic Day as a Black Day is the manifestation of the Kashmiris’ hatred against India and the hoisting of Pakistani flag reflects their love for Pakistan.

Srinagar, January 26 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Working Vice Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar while thanking the people of entire Jammu and Kashmir and those living abroad for observing 26th January as Black Day has said that India must shun its military arrogance and understand the writing on the wall.

Referring to the UN resolutions on Kashmir, the APHC leader in a statement issued in Srinagar reiterated that the exercise of right to self-determination would be a peaceful way of resolving the Kashmir dispute. Condemning India’s arrogance and denial to political settlement of the Kashmir dispute, Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar expressed serious concern over converting Jammu and Kashmir into a military garrison, particularly on January 26 and August 15. »

New Delhi, January 26 (KMS): Thousands of farmers knocked down police barricades and entered Delhi on foot this morning amid huge police presence as they kicked off their tractor rally against the Modi government’s new agricultural laws.

With chaos unfolding near the city’s borders, protesters were baton-charged and tear-gassed by policemen. »

New Delhi, January 26 (KMS): Farmers protesting against new agriculture laws in India broke through police barricades around the capital and entered the grounds of Delhi’s historic Red Fort, in chaotic and violent scenes that overshadowed Republic Day celebrations.

Delhi Police hit protesters with batons and fired teargas to try to disperse the crowds after hundreds of thousands of farmers, many on tractors or horses, marched on the Indian capital on Tuesday. One protester was confirmed to have died in the clashes and dozens were injured, The Guardian reported. »

Srinagar, January 26 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said that India, which claims to be the largest democracy in the world, has been depriving the Kashmiri people of all political, economic and religious rights for the past 73 years by the dint of gun.

Molvi Bashir Ahmad, APHC General Secretary, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said that Kashmiri people are not against celebration of democracy by a country but India has no right to celebrate the same in IIOJK as it has usurped Kashmiris’ political rights in the name of democracy.

The strike is the only effective way to keep the international community informed about the atrocities perpetrated on the Kashmiris by India, he said and urged the world to play its important role in finding a just solution to the long-running Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. »

Muzaffarabad, January 26 (KMS): India’s Republic Day was observed as Black Day in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan and wherever Kashmiris live in the world with renewed pledge to continue the struggle for right to self-determination till its logical conclusion.

The day was observed near Line of Control in Azad Kashmir under the aegis of Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir. Hundreds of people carrying black flags and wearing black ribbons participated in the rally held at Chakoti, Muzaffarabad. »

Islamabad, January 26 (KMS): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter held a protest demonstration outside the Indian High Commission in Islamabad to mark India’s Republic Day, today, as Black Day.

The demonstration was attended by the Hurriyat AJK leaders and heads of other political organizations and other leaders.

Addressing the protesters, the leaders said that the Kashmiri people were offering unprecedented sacrifices to end India’s illegal occupation. »

Brussels, January 26 (KMS): Speakers of an international online seminar called upon the international community, particularly Europe, to immediately prevent violations of human rights including basic human rights and democratic rights of people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
