Several stone-pelting incidents reported in IIOJK

Srinagar, February 11 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed, today, to mark the 37th martyrdom anniversary of prominent Kashmiri liberation leader, Muhammad Maqbool Butt.

Most of the shops, fuel stations and other business establishments were shut, while public transport was largely off the roads during the strike, call for which was given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and other pro-freedom leaders and organizations. Maqbool Butt was hanged in New Delhi’s Tihar jail on this day in 1984 for his active role in pro-freedom activities and was buried in the jail premises. »

the All Parties Harriyat Conference spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar while paying tributes to Shaheed Mohammad Maqbool Butt said that the Kashmiris would never allow any sell-out of the exemplary sacrifices of their martyrs.

He said that India must recognise the ground situation in Jammu and Kashmir, shun its stubbornness and pave the way for a free and fair plebiscite under the auspices of United Nations Security Council because the people of Kashmir vehemently reject India’s illegal occupation. »

Srinagar, February 11 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Chairman of International Forum for Justice Human Rights (J&K) Mohammad Ahsan Untoo has urged UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to persuade India to hand over the mortal remains of martyrs Mohammad Maqbool Buttt and Mohammed Afzal Guru to their families in Kashmir.

Muhammad Ahsan Untoo in a letter to the UN Chief drew his attention towards the deteriorating human rights situation in occupied Jammu Kashmir, saying the territory has been witnessing bloodshed, extrajudicial killings, disappearances, rape, torture, massacres, use of pellet guns, pepper gas and life imprisonments under draconian laws, over the past many years. »

Srinagar, February 11 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred a 60-year-old Kashmiri in Baramulla district.

Indian troops killed the aged Kashmiri, Sarfraz Ahmad, during a violent military operation in Uri area of the district.

Soon after the information, a team of Uri police rushed to the spot and recovered the body. »
