Islamabad, February 12 (KMS): Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri has said that India’s unwillingness to resolve the longstanding Jammu and Kashmir dispute is the main impediment to bring durable peace in the region.

Responding to media queries during his weekly news briefing in Islamabad, today, he said the entire world acknowledges Kashmir as a disputed region, which should be resolved in light of the UN resolutions. »

Srinagar, February 12 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has urged India to shun its stubbornness on the Kashmir dispute and take steps to settle it through holding of a free and fair plebiscite under the auspices of United Nations Security Council.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar maintained that Kashmiris’ demand for right to self-determination is a just and legitimate one which is also accepted by the UN and guaranteed by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. He said the people of Kashmir will not accept any solution to the Kashmir dispute against the UNSC resolutions and their aspirations. The spokesman termed Kashmir as a grave human problem. He said it is not a territorial dispute of ordinary sorts which can be settled by the muscle power but it involves the fate of Kashmiris which can be decided only by them. »

New Delhi, February 12 (KMS): National Conference leader and Member of Indian Parliament, Hasnain Masoodi, has said that the silence imposed by New Delhi following the revocation of special status of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir on 5th August 2019 should not be construed as peace.

Hasnain Masoodi said this while highlighting the situation of IIOJK during a discussion on the budget in Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament. »

Islamabad, February 12 (KMS): The AJK chapter of Mirwaiz-led Hurriyat forum has strongly condemned the surge in Indian state terrorism in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The forum in an extraordinary meeting held in Islamabad, today, and chaired by Convener, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, also rejected Indian false propaganda against the Kashmir freedom movement and Hurriyat leaders by the Indian secret agencies.

Addressing the meeting, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi said the Indian repression cannot stop the Kashmiris from demanding their right to self-determination. People of IIOJK will continue their struggle till victory, he added.

He said, the condition of illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists in different Indian detention centres and jails is very pathetic. He appealed to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and other human rights organizations to take cognizance of the plight of Kashmiri political detainees. »

New Delhi February 12 (KMS): The former chief of the Indian intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), Amarjit Singh Dulat, terming the move to end the Kashmir’s special status on August 5, 2019 as meaningless, said that it has not benefited India much.

Amarjit Singh Dulat in a media interview in New Delhi said that the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir were disappointed over the repeal of the special status and they thought it was a kind of treachery. »

Srinagar, February 12 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, an Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officer was injured in a bullet fire in Badgam district.

The paramilitary officer, Rajesh Kumar, was critically injured when his service rifle accidentally went off in Nagum Chadoora area of the district, a police officer told media men.

He said that the CRPF officer was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital from where he was referred to 92 Base Army Hospital in Srinagar where he is being treated for a bullet injury in the right leg.

Srinagar, February 12 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the authorities on Friday said that all the government and private schools in Kashmir Valley will reopen on March 01 after eight months of the outbreak of COVID-19.

Director School Education Kashmir, (DESK), Mohammad Youns Malik told media men that there was no confusion as they had already issued the order that all schools would be reopened on March 01. »

New Delhi, February 12 (KMS): Tension gripped the Karnal city in the Indian state of Haryana after Hindu armed extremists vandalised the houses and property of members of Dalit minority.

Around a dozen houses and several bikes were set ablaze by the Hindu goons in Valmiki Basti of Phoosgarh on the outskirts of the Karnal city of Haryana.

The Dalit residents of the area told media men that some upper caste Hindu youth, involved in illicit liquor trade, were forcing Dalit youth into it. When they refused, the upper caste Hindu youth with arms entered the locality and attacked Dalits, they added. »

United Nations, February 12 (KMS): A top Pakistani diplomat pushed back against false Indian claims in the US Security Council Wednesday about continuing terrorist activities from safe havens in Pakistan, and questioned India’s impartiality as head of the the 15-member body’s Taliban committee.

“India’s statement in UNSC briefing is reflection of its deep frustration at its inability to distort the UN reports and failure of its propaganda and dis-information campaign against Pakistan,” Ambassador Munir Akram said in a series of sharply-worded tweets in response to the allegations made by Indian Ambassador T S Trimurti. »

Islamabad, February 12 (KMS): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz said that the Government and people of Pakistan have extended support to the Kashmiri brethren throughout the last seven decades, and would continue to do so until the Kashmiris succeed in their struggle for their inalienable right to self-determination.

Speaking at the Kashmir Solidarity Day Photographic Exhibition at Foreign Office, the minister said that Pakistan under the bold leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan has rejected India’s illegal actions of August 5, 2019 and internationally highlighted the humanitarian, legal and peace and security dimensions of the issue. »
