Srinagar, February 25 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the health of Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, facing illegal detention since July 11, 2020, has deteriorated at Udhampur jail in Jammu region.

The sources privy to the development informed that Ashraf Sehrai who is suffering from various ailments is in critical condition as he has neither access to a physician nor life-saving medicines. No one including relatives, friends and even media persons are allowed to meet the ailing TeH Chairman in jail, the sources added. »

Srinagar, February 25 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, while setting another example of communal harmony, Muslims in Damhal Hanjipora area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district went all out to help in the cremation of a Sikh man, upholding the centuries-old tradition of brotherhood between the two communities.

Locals said that Surinder Singh (75), died in Pombay village of Damhal Hanjipora on Wednesday after belief illness and his last rites were performed on Thursday.

They said that soon after the news of his death spread in the area, local Muslims made special arrangements in performing his last rites. “They also ferried firewood for helping the family to cremate the deceased.” »

An analytical report released by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, today, revealed that the Kashmiris’ miseries have increased manifold since the imposition of strict military siege by Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government on August 05, 2019 when it revoked the special status of the territory. It said Indian troops have martyred 312 Kashmiris and injured over 1706 during this period. Two youth were martyred by the troops, yesterday. »

Reiterates OIC’s commitment to protection of human rights

Jeddah, February 25 (KMS): The Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, Dr Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen has reaffirmed the OIC’s commitment to the promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms, including in Jammu and Kashmir.

The OIC Secretary General made the statement in his address to the High-Level Segment of the ongoing 46th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). The UNHRC’s session, which commenced on February 22, will continue till March 23 in a virtual mode. »

Srinagar, February 25 (KMS): In Indian Illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the High Court has quashed draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) slapped on Jamaat-e-Islami chief Spokesman Advocate Zahid Ali saying “the grounds of detention were repeated by the detaining authority which were earlier quashed by the court.”

The judgment passed by Justice Sanjeev Kumar reads, “That the impugned order of detention has been passed on same facts and for the same activities which were part of the grounds of detention in the earlier detention order passed against the detenue, which was quashed by this court and, therefore, the same is not sustainable in law.” »
