Islamabad, March 03 (KMS): In 2020, India topped list of 29 countries that blocked access to the internet despite increased demand during COVID-19, while over the past year billions of people all over the world have relied heavily on internet connectivity to keep in touch with family and friends, learn online, work from home and get vital information about the pandemic.

Over the course of 2020, 29 countries intentionally shut down or slowed their internet communications at least 155 times, said a new report published by Access Now, a non-profit digital rights group. »

Srinagar, March 03 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Jammu & Kashmir Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU), today, demanded released of its patron, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq saying the pulpits of the largest religious and spiritual centre of Jammu and Kashmir – Jamia Masjid Srinagar – has fallen silent for the past 82 Fridays due to his continued house detention.

The MMU a meeting, which was held at Mirwaiz Manzil Rajouri Kadal , Srinagar, and attended by representatives of leading social and educational institutions and members from the trading fraternity expressed concern over the continued house arrest of Mirwaiz since August 2019. »

Kashmiris won’t forget India’s crimes in IIOJK

Srinagar, March 03 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said that Kashmiri journalists are being booked under draconian laws as part of Modi-led fascist Indian government’s cruel policy to keep the outside world uninformed about its war crimes perpetrated by its brutal forces against the Kashmiri people.

APHC General Secretary Molvi Bashir Ahmad in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, said that scores of journalists have been killed, injured, abducted, threatened and tortured simply for performing their professional duties in the occupied territory since 1989. He maintained that victimization of journalists has increased manifold after August 5, 2019, when New Delhi imposed indefinite lockdown in the territory.

Islamabad, March 03 (KMS): The Azad Kashmir chapter of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, today, staged a protest outside the National Press Club, Islamabad, against the massacre of Kashmiris by Indian forces in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and illegal detention of Hurriyat leaders.

Addressing the protesters, Hurriyat leaders said that India was arresting Kashmiri leaders under a conspiracy. They said that India was committing genocide of Kashmiris to change the demographic composition in the occupied territory by providing domicile to non-Kashmiris. »

Srinagar, March 03 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the High Court has quashed detention order under the black law Public Safety Act against an innocent youth, Showkat Ahmad Butt and directed authorities to release him from preventive custody forthwith.

“On the touchstone of the settled position of law and perusal of record, the detainee was not supplied the materials relied upon by the detaining authority. He was provided material in the shape of grounds of detention with no other material/documents, as referred to in the order of detention,” a bench of Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey said, adding, “On these counts alone, in view of the settled position of law, the detention of the detainee is vitiated, the detainee having been prevented from making an effective and purposeful representation against the order of detention by not providing the sufficient material.” »

Srinagar, March 03 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), a bullet-riddled body of an Indian soldier was found in Rajouri town.

The body was found at the Indian army camp near Gurdan area of the town, an official said.

A police official told media men that they have taken the body in their possession and it is being shifted to a civil hospital for medical examination. »
