Srinagar, March 05 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian probe agency, Enforcement Directorate has summoned the President of Democratic Freedom Party, Mehbooba Mufti, in a money laundering case.

The ED has summoned the PDP President on 15 March. As per a notice served to Mufti, the ED has asked her to be present in its New Delhi office at about 11:30 am for questioning in connection with money laundering case. »

Srinagar, March 05 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Harriet Conference has strongly condemned the use of brute force by Indian police and troops against peaceful protesters in Srinagar, today.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the people, especially the youth, in reaction to the lathi-charge by the police raised slogans in favour of freedom and against the use of brute force by Indian police and troops. »

‘Why did you beat him as if to kill?’

Srinagar, March 05 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the journalists covering protests outside Srinagar’s Jamia Masjid, today, said that they were chased and two of them were beaten up by Indian police personnel.

Shafat Farooq, a videojournalist with the BBC’s Urdu service, told media men over phone that a constable hit him on backbone with a gun butt as other personnel chased him when he was covering the protests in Nowhatta area. He said that after being hit with the butt of the personnel’s rifle, the police continued to chase him. “Then I confronted him why he hit me,” Farooq told media men. »

Srinagar, March 05 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU) has expressed serious resentment over the continued house arrest of its Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, for the last 20 months.

The MMU members including leading religious scholars, ulema, mashaaikh and aima on Friday in their Friday sermons said, the undue restrictions on the peaceful activities of the Valley’s topmost religious leader and preventing him from performing his religious duties were unacceptable. »

Srinagar, March 05 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, senior Hurriyat leader, Professor Abdul Ghani Butt, has said that world is changing for good and the international community is now showing interest to resolve the disputes particularly the Kashmir dispute.

Professor Abdul Ghani Butt addressing a meeting in Badgam, today, said the disputes need to be resolved for peace and mutual interests of all the nations throughout the world.

He said, Kashmir dispute is pivotal in this situation which needs to be settled to the flatter of all hearts particularly the people of Kashmir who had rendered enormous sacrifices. »

Placing of Mirwaiz under house arrest again denounced

Srinagar, March 05 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, several people were injured due to the use of brute force by Indian police against peaceful protesters in Srinagar, today.

The youth staged forceful pro-freedom and anti-India demonstrations, today, outside the historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar after Friday prayers. The protesters raised high-pitched slogans “We want freedom”, “Jeevey Jeevey Pakistan” and “Pakistan Zindabad”. They were also holding the pictures of Hurriyat forum Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who was placed under house arrest once again. The occupation authorities had eased restrictions on his movement, yesterday, after 20 months and he was expected to deliver weekly Friday sermon at historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, today, after 82 weeks. The Mirwaiz is continuously under house detention since 04 August 2019, a day before the Modi-led fascist Indian government repealed Kashmir’s special status and imposed military siege in the territory. Indian police fired teargas shells and pellets to disperse the protesters causing injuries to several people including a journalist. The clashes between protesters and Indian police continued for hours. Journalists covering protests said that they were chased and two of them were beaten up by the police personnel.

The Hurriyat forum in a statement in Srinagar strongly condemned the Indian government’s authoritarian action of placing of Mirwaiz under house arrest again, saying that this imperious decision of the authorities has hurt the sentiments of people and further aggrieved them. Members of Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulema including leading religious scholars, ulema, mashaaikh and aima in their Friday sermons also denounced the continued house detention of the Mirwaiz.

Srinagar, March 05 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) has demanded the immediate release of all illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists.

Addressing a protest demonstration in Srinagar, organised by the party’s women wing, the Secretary women’s wing deplored that hundreds of innocent youth detained under frivolous cases, were languishing in different jails and police stations across the valley and most of them were detained under draconian law, Public Safety Act (PSA). »

Islamabad, March 05 (KMS): The Parliamentary Kashmir Committee, headed by Shehryar Khan Afridi,

has clarified that its tweet regarding recent ceasefire announced by Pakistan and India was presented out of context and maintained that the veteran Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani, is respected by all the Pakistanis.

The Committee in its fresh tweet stated that nothing in the previous tweet was aimed at Syed Ali Gilani, who is respected by all the people. The tweet said, the account subjected to unnecessary noise is not handled by the Chairman Kashmir Committee Shehryar Afridi. The tweet emphasized that all needed to stand united, shift their focus on countering and exposing genocide of Kashmiris by Indian occupational regime”. »

Srinagar, March 05 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Hurriyat leader, Javaid Ahmad Mir, has said that Kashmir is an internationally recognized dispute and the world powers should play their role in its peaceful resolution.

Javaid Ahmed Mir addressing a condolence meeting in Dalgate area of Srinagar hailed the ceasefire announced by Pakistan and India along the Line of Control (LoC) and other sectors. Srinagar, March 05 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has been placed under house arrest once again and will not be able to lead the congregational Friday prayers at historic Jamia Masjid today.

The Mirwaiz was placed under house detention on August 04, 2019 a day before the Modi-led fascist Indian government repealed the Kashmir’s special status and imposed military siege in the territory. Restrictions on his movement were eased, yesterday, after almost 20 months and he was expected to deliver Friday sermon at historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, today, after 82 weeks. The Mirwaiz is also scheduled to attend the Ulema Council meeting at Mirwaiz Manzil, Rajouri Kadal in Srinagar. »
