Srinagar, March 30 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Shab-e-Baraat was observed with religious zeal and fervor and people held long night prayers in local mosques for salvation as well as freedom from brutal Indian occupation.

The major Shab-e-Baraat congregation, scheduled at the historic Jama Masjid Srinagar, was cancelled in view of the restrictions.

Srinagar, March 30 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, another municipal councillor associated with Bharatiya Janta Party injured in an attack in Sopore on Monday succumbed to his injuries, taking death toll to three.

Councillor Shamsud Din Peer, who was wounded in the attack on municipal councillors in Sopore town, died on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday at a hospital in Srinagar.

Earlier, another BJP municipal councillor and a police guard were killed when the attack took place in the meeting room of Municipal Council Sopore. »

Srinagar, March 30 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian police arrested nine teenage boys during raids in Baramulla district.

Police arrested the boys in Sheeri area of the district during late night operations.

Senior Superintendent of police (SSP) Baramulla, Rayees Ahmad told media men that boys from Shopian district were detained by police on suspicion. »

Jammu, March 30 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, APHC leader and Chairman of Social Peace Forum Advocate Devinder Singh Behl, has urged India and Pakistan to resolve the long-pending Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people through peaceful means.

Devinder Singh Behl while addressing public gatherings in different areas in connection with the ongoing public awareness campaign in Kalakot Tehsil of Rajouri District said that Jammu and Kashmir is a disputed area recognized by India in the United Nations. He said that war was not the solution to any problem and therefore the two neighboring countries should start the dialogue process to resolve the Kashmir issue. »

New Delhi, March 30 (KMS): A group of fanatic Hindus killed a 60-year old woman and injured her five family members in Indian state of Utter Pradesh.

The group in an inebriated state entered the woman’s house and beat her to death with sticks and stone and injured five other family members in Mevati Tola locality of the state.

The family was attacked after they asked the group to avoid shouting outside their house during a Hindu festival, Holi celebrations. »

Kolkata, March 30 (KMS): India’s West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has yet again held responsible the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for an attack on her in Nandigram.

In an apparent reference to the rival BJP, the Trinamool Congress supremo said that goons from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar were brought in Bengal to attack her. Mamata, who was addressing a rally in Nandigram, said that she would respond like a Royal Bengal tiger.

“Those who can’t love culture, can’t do politics here. Nandigram is witnessing hooliganism. We held meeting in Birulia, TMC office destroyed. He’s (Suvendu Adhikari) doing whatever he wants. I can play games too. I too will respond like a lion. I’m a Royal Bengal tiger,” she said. »
