Concern expressed over plight of Kashmiri detainees

Indian troops martyr 14 Kashmiris in IHK

Srinagar, May 01 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian troops in their unabated acts of state terrorism martyred 18 Kashmiris during the last month of April.

According to the data issued by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, today, during the period, at least 64 persons were injured due to firing of bullets, pellets and teargas shells by Indian troops and police personnel on peaceful protesters while 92 persons were arrested in the territory. The Indian forces’ personnel destroyed and damaged 9 houses and other structures during so-called cordon and search operations in the month. The troops also molested 4 women during the period.

Meanwhile, Indian authorities have shifted at least 31 illegally detained political prisoners from Kot Bhalwal, Kathua and Amphala jails of Jammu region to Karnal jail in the Indian state of Haryana where COVID is on peak. International Forum For Justice Human Rights JK Chairperson, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, in a statement issued in Srinagar deplored that instead of releasing the Kashmiri political prisoners, the Indian authorities are shifting them to Karnal jail amidst a raging pandemic, thereby risking their lives. »

Srinagar, May 01 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the High Court Bar Association (HCBA) has urged the Indian government and the administration of the territory to shift the Kashmiri prisoners lodged in various jails of India back to the Valley in view of the massive spike in COVID deaths and infections.

The HCBA spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that in an extra-ordinary meeting chaired by its Chairman, Advocate Nazir Ahmed Ronga, serious concern was expressed on the health conditions of the hundreds of Kashmiri prisoners lodged in different jails in India. »

Srinagar, May 01 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Human Rights Bureau in-charge of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Advocate Zamruda Habib, has expressed deep concern over the deteriorating human rights graph in the territory at the hands of Indian forces.

Zamruda Habib in a statement issued in Srinagar, terming the current situation as most volatile, said IIOJK has the highest civilian military ratio as compared to all other conflict zones in the world. »

Srinagar, May 01 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the authorities have shifted dozens of illegally detained political prisoners from jails of the territory to various Indian prisons.

At least thirty one detainees have been shifted from Kot Bhalwal jail, Kathua jail and Amphala jail in Jammu to Karnal jail in the Indian state of Haryana where COVID is on peak. Some of the detainees who have been shifted to the Indian jail include Danish Ahmed Kakroo, Sajad Ahmed Butt, Hafiz Rizwan Wani, Lateef Ahmed Rathar, Nazir Ahmed Khan, Tajamul Islam, Dr Imtiyaz Ahmed Sheikh, Farhat Fayaz, Showkat Ahmed Lone and Lateef Ahmed Dar. »

Srinagar, May 01 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM), a constituent of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, has urged the Indian government to release all illegally detained Kashmiris lodged in various jails in India.

APHC leader and the Chairman of JKPM, Mir Shahid Saleem, in a statement issued in Jammu said the deepening crisis of COVID-19 across India has already posed a challenge to the people to survive. He said there are reports of COVID infection having already entered the New Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail with a couple of deaths. »
