Srinagar, May 06 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, complete strike was observed all across the territory, today, to mourn the custodial killing of senior APHC leader and Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in Jammu’s Udhampur jail.

Call for the strike was given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and other Hurriyat leaders and organizations. Funeral prayers and dua majalis were held in Nowgam, Hyderpora, Barzulla, Nowakadal in Srinagar and other areas of the valley despite curfew and restrictions. Several Hurriyat leaders and activists were arrested by Indian police in Srinagar, Islamabad, Pulwama and other areas to prevent them from attending funeral prayers. In Kupwara areas, strict curfew was imposed to stop pro-freedom protests and to express solidarity with Sehrai’s family in Lolab. The funerals were organized by Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Justice Party, Political Resistance Movement, Jammu and Kashmir Social Youth Forum and other Hurriyat organizations. Hurriyat leaders and activists including Muhammad Ashraf Laya, Bashir Qurashi, Rafiq Owais and Nisar Hussain Rather addressed the mourners. »

APHC appeals people to come on streets massively

Srinagar, May 06 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, senior APHC leader and Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai has been laid to rest in tight military siege in his ancestral village Tekipora in Lolab area of Kupwara. The occupation authorities had put strict restrictions on the movement of the people and the whole area was cordoned off.

A small number of people mainly some close relatives were allowed to participate in the funeral prayers and to have a last glimpse of the martyred leader. Indian army had laid restrictions all across the occupied valley to prevent mammoth gathering on the funeral of Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai.

Srinagar, May 06 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, people raised high-pitched pro-freedom, pro-Pakistan and anti-India slogans during the funeral of senior APHC leader and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai.

A video shows that as the Namaz-e-Janaza of the late leader was offered in his ancestral village Tekipora in Lolab area of Kupwara and he was being laid to rest, people shouted slogans in fovour of Ashraf Sehrai, freedom, Islam and Pakistan. The participants of the funeral raised slogans “Nara-e-Takbeer – Allah-o-Akbar”, “We want freedom”, “Azadi ka matlab kia – La ilaha illalah”, “Sehrai sahib sey rishta kia – La ilaha illalah”, “We are Pakistanis – Pakistan is ours”, “Pakistan sey rishta kia – La ilaha illalah”, “Listen oppressor and traitors – freedom is our right and we will get this right at all costs”. »

Islamabad, May 06 (KMS): The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of senior APHC leader and Tehreek-e-Hurryat Jammu and Kashmir Chairman Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in illegal Indian custody, saying New Delhi’s oppression of the Kashmiris is a blot on international community’s collective conscience.

In his Twitter message, the Pakistan’s Prime Minister wrote, “Deeply saddened by the demise of Kashmiri leader Ashraf Sehrai in illegal Indian custody. India’s oppression of Kashmiris is a blot on int community’s collective conscience. We will continue to support Kashmiris’ just struggle for the right to self-determination in acc with UNSC Resolutions.”

The protest demonstration was held under the auspices of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter.

The speakers addressing on the occasion said that the martyr leader was foliage personality and he had dedicated his entire to the Kashmir cause. »

Amritsar (Indian Punjab), May 06 (KMS): Dal Khalsa, Sikhs representative organization, has expressed grief over the custodial death of senior APHC leader and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, in Jammu.

Dal Khalsa in a statement issued in Amritsar said that party leaders expressed their condolences on death of Sehrai. They said he was a man of principles and commitment. »

Srinagar, May 06 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have paid glowing tributes to senior APHC leader and Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Chairman, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai.

Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai died in Indian custody in Jammu on Wednesday.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference General Secretary, Molvi Bashir Ahmad in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the death of Ashraf Sehrai was an irreversible loss but his sacrifices should not be allowed to be forgotten and his mission would be accomplished at all costs. He appealed to Kashmiri people and scholars to protest against Indian aggression after the prayer and organize the funeral prayers everywhere in absentia. He deplored that the Indian rulers put him in jail under draconian PSA and did not release him despite it that he was suffering from different ailments in jail. »

Islamabad, May 06 (KMS): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir based Hurriyat leaders and organizations have termed the demise of senior APHC leader and Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai as an irreparable national loss.

The Acting Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar in a statement in Islamabad, paying rich tributes to Ashraf Sehrai eulogized the supreme sacrifices of Ashraf Sehrai and his family, he said that the contribution of the deceased leader to Kashmir cause would be written in golden words in the history of Kashmir. Terming his death as a national loss, he said that the deceased leader’s death in prison was clearly a case of extrajudicial killing as he was subjected to torture and put in abysmal conditions in the jail. “The prison authorities’ deliberate attempt to deprive him of the basic amenities that including the proper medical checkup amounts to a crime of serious nature”, Saghar added. »

Asked to hold Ghaibana Namz-e-Janaza, anti-India demos

Srinagar, May 06 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and other Hurriyat leaders and organizations have appealed to the Kashmiris to come out of their homes and pay tribute to Hurriyat leader, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, by holding his Ghaibana Namaz-e-Janaza and staging anti-India demonstrations across the territory.

The APHC Working Vice Chairman, Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar, and other Hurriyat leaders and organizations in their statement said that Ashraf Sehrai was a great leader of the Kashmiri nation who dedicated his life for the Kashmir cause. They asked the people belonging to all segments of society to defy restrictions imposed by the occupation authorities and hold funeral prayers in absentia for their beloved leader in their respective areas and pay salute to him. »
