Srinagar, May 09 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Political Resistance Movement (JKPRM) has denounced the continued illegal detention of Hurriyat leaders and activists languishing in different jails of India and the territory and demanded their immediate release.
The delegation visited the houses of several detained leaders houses and expressed solidarity with their families and urged India to release all detainees during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The JKPRM delegation, led by its Chairman, Dr Umair Ahmad along with members Tariq Shafi Dar and Mohamad shafiq Ahmed, expressed solidarity with families of illegally detained leader, Raja Merajuddin Kalwal, Peer Saifullah and others in Srinagar.
The members of the delegation deplored that India had kept thousands of Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders and youth in jails under false cases and added that their illegal detention was being prolonged under one pretext or the other.
They said that the illegally detained leaders, including Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Masarrat Aalam Butt, Aasiya Andrabi, Naheeda Nasreen, Fehmeeda Sofi, Ayaz Akbar, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Merajuddin Kalwal, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Ameer Hamza, Peer Saifullah, Dr Abdul Hameed Fayaz, Advocate Zahid Ali and Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo should be released immediately.
The delegation tried to visit Ashraf Sehrai’s residence at Barzulla in Srinagar but Indian forces did not allow it as the forces were deployed outside the house of the martyred leader.
