Muzaffarabad, May 21 (KMS): Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir organized a seminar in Muzaffarabad, today, followed by a rally to pay tributes to prominent martyred Hurriyat leaders, Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone, as well as the martyrs of Hawal massacre on their martyrdom anniversaries, today.

Eminent religious scholar, Maulana Abdul Aziz Alvi, was the chief guest while Pasban-e-Hurriyat Chairman, Uzair Ahmad Ghazali chaired the seminar. The Vice Chairman of International Forum for Justice, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Chaudhry Muhammad Ismail, Raja Zaheer Khan, Dr Muhammad Monzoor, Qari Ateeq Ahmed Danish, Abdul Raoof Tantray, Hafiz Bilal Ahmed Farooqi, Usman Ali Hashim, Tanveer Ahmed Durrani, Javed Ahmed Mughal and others were also present on the occasion. »

Islamabad, May 10 (KMS): A meeting of the Azad Kashmir chapter of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC-AJK) was held in Islamabad, today, to pay homage to chairman Tehreek e Hurriyat Shaheed Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, senior Hurriyat leader Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah, brother in law of senior APHC leader Mohammad Farooq Rehmani and mother of Hurriyat leader, Zahid Safi.

Islamabad, May 06 (KMS): The government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir offered to send medical aid to the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) to help Kashmiris fight a deadly wave of the coronavirus.

“AJK [Azad Jammu and Kashmir] is ready to send a consignment of medicines, ventilators, oxygen, sensitisers, masks and PPEs [personal protection equipment] to help Kashmiris fight coronavirus. The consignment can be delivered by AJK Red Crescent,” the president of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Masood Khan, said in a statement. »

Muzaffarabad, May 05 (KMS): The President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Sardar Masood Khan while ruling out any out of box solution of the Kashmir issue and stressed for implementation of United Nations Security Council resolutions.

In an interview with a private television channel here, the State President said that there are three parties to the Kashmir issue i.e. Pakistan, India, and the people of Jammu and Kashmir but the Kashmiris are the most important and basic party as these are the people who are to decide their future destiny, while Pakistan and India will play facilitators’ role.

AJK President asserted that Tashkent Agreement, Simla Accord, Sawaran Singh-Bhutto talks and Musharraf-Vajpayee negotiations in the past remained inconclusive and no solution could be found to Kashmir because Kashmiris were not part of those parleys. »

Islamabad, May 04 (KMS): The AJK President Sardar Masood Khan has said that ceasefire at the Line of Control and de-escalation of tension would neither resolve the Kashmir issue nor would peace return to the region.

“To bring peace, India must stop the massacre of the Kashmiri people and take decisive steps to grant the fundamental right of self-determination to them,” he asserted.

In an interview with a Pakistani private TV channel, he said that the Kashmiris must be consulted and taken into confidence about whatever the decision is to be made about Kashmir because none other than the Kashmiri people can be sincerer to Pakistan. »

Islamabad, May 02 (KMS): The father of Aqeel Anjum, General Secretary of Kashmir Journalists Forum, has passed away in Islamabad.

He had been undergoing treatment for coronavirus at a hospital in Islamabad for the past several days. He breathed his last, yesterday. His funeral prayers were offered near Zia Masjid on Islamabad Expressway.

Mirpur, May 01 (KMS): Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan while condemning the inhumane treatment of 174 political leaders and thousands of political activists lodged in occupied Kashmir and Indian jails on Friday demanded their immediate and unconditional release.

“The deteriorating health of the some of these prisoners of conscience and threat posed to their lives is a matter of serious concern,” he said and demanded immediate release of all these detainees. »

Muzaffarabad, April 29 (KMS): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan while welcoming the efforts to pave the way for peace and security in South Asia made it clear that without resolving the Kashmir issue trust between India and Pakistan cannot be restored.

Talking to newsmen after a meeting with Deputy Speaker of National Assembly Qasim Khan Suri here, he said confidence cannot be built between Pakistan and India without cessation of Indian repression against the innocent Kashmiri people, reversal of unlawful Indian actions of August 5, 2019, and the resolution of Kashmir issue in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of the Kashmiri people. »

Poonch, April 28 (KMS): The guns have gone silent, schools have reopened and the bunkers are empty along Pakistan’s restive Line of Control with India, but even as residents in Kashmir relax thanks to an uneasy truce, they fear fighting may erupt again soon.

For months, a precarious peace has been welcomed by conflict-wary Kashmiris along the Line of Control (LoC) — the boundary that divides the disputed region between Pakistan and India.

The surprise truce announced in late February brought an end to years of violence along the frontier that saw thousands of skirmishes rattle the disputed Himalayan territory, where the two sides have used artillery, mortars, and small arms. »

Muzaffarabad, April 28 (KMS): Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan has called upon the national political leadership of Pakistan to rise above their petty political differences and join hands for the important national cause of Kashmir.

“Voices in favour of the rights of Kashmiri people are being heard in many parliaments of the world… We direly need to take advantage of this environment and further mobilize the global public opinion about our cause. And this job can be done well by the political leadership of Pakistan, particularly the parliamentary leaders,” he said in an interaction with media persons here. »
