JRL urges people to boycott local bodies, Panchayat elections

Srinagar, September 18 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has said that the so-called elections held by India in the territory cannot be a substitute to the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.

The resistance leaders in a statement issued in Srinagar termed the election drama enacted by India as a political gimmick to hoodwink the international community that the people of Kashmir enjoyed the Indian democracy freely. They reiterated their appeal to the Kashmiri people to completely boycott the upcoming municipal and local bodies elections in the territory. »

Srinagar, September 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) Chairman, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and Muslim Conference Chairman Shabbir Ahmad Dar visited the residence of martyred Hurriyat activist, Hakeemur Rehman Sultani at Bomai in Sopore and expressed condolences with his bereaved family members.

The leaders offered fateha for the departed soul. Ashraf Sehrai addresses mourners reiterated to continue the liberation struggle and said that the killing of Hurriyat activists by Indian agencies would not weaken Kashmiris’ commitment to the Kashmir cause. »

Srinagar, August 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Pakistani flags were hoisted at many places in the Kashmir Valley to mark 14th August, the Independence Day of Pakistan.

Pakistan’s Independence Day was celebrated in various areas including Shopian, Bijbehara and Kulgam. Pakistani flag was hoisted at these places by the people singing the national anthem of the Pakistan. Mini-parades were also held on this occasion.

Pakistani flag was hoisted in Barzulla area of Srinagar while in the evening people burst fire-crackers at Nowhatta in downtown Srinagar to celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day. »

Srinagar, September 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that India is following a policy of coercion, defamation and intimidation in Kashmir instead of addressing the actual issue of Kashmir.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressing a press conference outside Jamia Masjid in Srinagar said, “It wants to change the whole narrative, so diversionary tactics and propaganda is being used as its a multi pronged approach.” »

Srinagar, June 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a Tehreek-e-Hurriyat delegation visited the residences Hizbul Mujahideen’s martyred commanders Burhan Wani, Sabzar Ahmad and Isaac Newton in Tral town on Eid day. The delegation was led by Umar Aadil Dar of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat who was accompanied by Khurshed Ahmad Parrey and Fayaz Ahmad Ganai. »

Srinagar, June 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, thousands of people including women and children carried out a huge protest march against the reign of terror unleashed by Indian army on Eid day. The rally was led by independent member of so-called Kashmir Assembly, Engineer Abdur Rasheed to condemn ransacking of houses, beating up of inmates and cricket-playing youth by Indian troops and police personnel in Handwara on the day of Eid. »

Srinagar, June 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, many youth were arrested after anti-India protests rocked Kishtwar town before and after the Eid prayers on Monday. The district administration and police had made elaborated security arrangements to thwart any anti-India protests in the area. All the entry and exit points leading to Kishtwar town and the Eid prayer venue were sealed by erecting barbed wires. Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan and SSP Kishtwar Sandeep Wazir personally supervised the security arrangements. »

Islamabad, June 25 (KMS): The leaders of Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter of the forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq have strongly condemned the stepped up Indian state terrorism and arrest of Hurriyet leaders and common people by Indian police in occupied Kashmir.

The forum leaders at a meeting presided over by the Convener, Syed Faiz Naqashbandi, in Islamabad said that India had turned occupied Kashmir into a killing field and a big prison. They said that Indian troops had killed at least a hundred people including students, injured hundreds and blinded dozens during the last five months in Kashmir. »
