Srinagar, May 24 (KMS): The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) in a statement issued after its meeting said that the participants of the meeting unanimously passed a resolution reiterating party’s stand that viable, permanent and just solution of Kashmir dispute lied in the exercise of unfettered right to self-determination or in the conduction of meaningful and result-oriented tripartite dialogue between India, Pakistan and Kashmir.

The participants also unanimously agreed that JKLF would not accept division of Kashmir like any other anti-Kashmir solution.

They expressed their determination to carry forward their freedom struggle, come what may.

According to the statement, the head of JKLF central convening committee, Khawaja Saifudin, while speaking on the occasion said that now people of Kashmir could neither be threatened nor seduced.

He asked the Kashmiri people, especially party members, to stand strong and firm with renewed enthusiasm at this point in time when the conspiracies are being hatched against the national integrity of Jammu Kashmir.

Jammu, May 23 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, in-charge of Minority Affairs of the All Parties Harriet Conference, Advocate, Davinder Singh Behl has expressed concern over the plight of Kashmiri political detainees languishing in different jails of India.

Davinder Singh Behl in a statement issued in Jammu deplored that the political detainees were without basic amenities and medical care. He urged the United Nations Council for Human Rights and other international human rights organizations to visit the Indian jails and assess the deteriorating health conditions of the Kashmiri political detainees.

He said that the authorities were not releasing the political detainees of IIOJK on parole despite the rulings of the Indian Supreme Court keeping in view the Covid pandemic which has badly engulfed India.

The Hurriyat leader said that the Modi-led Indian fascist regime was deliberately making the illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists vulnerable to the Covid pandemic as they did in case of senior APHC leader and Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Chairman, Muhamed Ashraf Sehrai in Jammu jai.

The Hurriyat leader said that despite repeatedly demanding social distancing, proper medical treatment, hygienic atmosphere, balanced diet and indoor exercises for physical fitness as per jail manual, the jail authorities were not providing the same which was tantamount to endanger the lives of the detainees to the devastating pandemic. He lauded the high morale and valour displayed by the freedom-loving leaders of Kashmir, despite the cruel attitude of the jail authorities.

Davinder Singh Behl reiterated the APHC pledge to carry on the legitimate struggle for right to self-determination to its logical conclusion for which the people of Kashmir have rendered unprecedented sacrifices.

He also urged the United Nations Secretary General, António Guterres to take serious cognizance of the gross rights violations at the hands of Indian forces and help resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions.

New York, May 22 (KMS): Pakistan will negotiate to find a solution of the decades-old Kashmir dispute, but will not barter away the inalienable rights of Kashmiri people, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi told a gathering of Pakistani-Americans.

He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was deeply committed to the just cause of the Kashmiris and that his stand on the issue was unequivocal.

“We will talk respectfully, but will not make a deal (on Kashmir),” the foreign minister told a cheering audience. He was answering a question about concerns being voiced over reported back-channel engagement with India on the decades-old dispute.

He also said that Pakistan was open to dialogue with India aimed at peacefully resolve all outstanding issues, including Kashmir.

Past regimes in Pakistan, Qureshi said, had put the Kashmir dispute on back burner, but the present government had revived it, citing PM Imran Khan’s forceful address to the UN General Assembly in 2019.

Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Munir Akram and Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Asad Majeed Khan were among those who also present.

Pakistani Consul General in New York, Ayesha Ali, welcomed the foreign minister, noting that he is the first dignitary from Pakistan to visit New York since the Covid-19 pandemic hit the world early in 2020.

On their part, the community members praised Pakistan’s strong advocacy of the Palestinian cause, the way it stood by the beleaguered people and highlighted their plight as they suffered under massive, 11-day Israeli bombardment that left nearly 250 people dead, including women and children.

FM Qureshi, who led the Pakistan delegation to May 19’s session of UN General Assembly on Palestine, said his purpose and that of other foreign ministers from Islamic countries, who have come to New York, was mainly to raise voice in the 193-member body in an effort to seek an end to the atrocities being committed against the Palestinians.

“By the grace of God”, he said, “We succeeded in our first objective — a ceasefire.” Replying to another question, FM Qureshi said there were deep similarities in Palestine and Kashmir issues– the people in both the entities were struggling for their right to self-determination; both suffered atrocities from their occupiers and both were resisting demographic changes and ethnic cleansing in their respective territories.

Lauding the important role of diaspora, the foreign minister said that Prime Minister Khan considered overseas Pakistanis as great assets who continue to uphold Pakistan’s interests in the international arena, and boosting its economy with ever-increasing remittances.

He also praised overseas Pakistanis for helping to strengthen Pakistan-US ties, and said that efficient service delivery would be provided for them.

Qureshi said the government was actively working to legislate electoral reforms that would allow overseas Pakistanis to vote in national elections.

“We want to give Pakistanis abroad the right to participate in elections in Pakistan,” he added, as applause rang out.

The government, he said, was vigorously pursuing steps to ensure food and water security.

He said that priority attention was being given to the critical water issue, citing that work was proceeding on constructing new dams.

The foreign minister also lauded the efforts of the Consulate General of Pakistan, New York, for continuing to offer its services to the Pakistani community within its consular jurisdiction, despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Earlier, Consul General Ayesha Ali said that in line with prime minister’s vision and the foreign minister’s special instructions, the consulate had implemented all new consular initiatives in an efficient manner, including provision of online Visas, E-passports and efficient outreach to the Pakistani-American community through E-Kutcheries.

Srinagar, May 21 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations continue to pay rich tributes to prominent Hurriyat leaders, Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone, as well as the victims of Hawal massacre on their martyrdom anniversaries, today.

It was on this day in 1990 when Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq was shot dead by the agents of Indian agencies at his residence in Srinagar. Indian troops had killed seventy mourners by opening indiscriminate fire on his funeral procession in Hawal area of Srinagar. Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone was also martyred by the agents of Indian agencies when he was returning from addressing a gathering at Mazar-e-Shuhada in Srinagar on the same day in 2002.

Senior Hurriyat leader and the patron of Jammu and Kashmir Ittehad-e-Muslimeen, Maulana Abbas Ansari, in a statement in Srinagar described Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq as an important political, social and religious leader. He said that Shaheed Mirwaiz spent every single moment of his life for the survival of truth and justice and played an important role in promoting Islamic education besides providing political and social guidance to the oppressed Kashmiri people.

Maulana Abbas Ansari said that Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone endured the hardships of imprisonment and mental and physical suffering. He said that the services of Shaheed Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone to the Kashmir freedom movement were unforgettable. The manner in which he nurtured the right to self-determination movement with sincerity and good faith is exemplary, he said. Maulana Abbas Ansari termed the martyrdom of both the Hurriyat leaders as an irreparable loss politically, socially and religiously. He said the martyred leaders are still alive today in the form of high ideals and good character and will always remain alive.

Senior Hurriyat leader, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the services and contribution of the martyred leaders, Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone for the Kashmir cause were like an open book. He reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue the liberation struggle till the accomplishment of the martyrs’ mission.

APHC leader and the patron of Jammu and Kashmir Mass Movement (JKMM), Farida Bahenji, in a statement issued in Srinagar said, by sacrificing their lives, these leaders gave a clear message to their enemies that freedom of Kashmir was the only solution of the Kashmir dispute.

Hurriyat leader, Jahangir Ghani Butt, in his statement in Srinagar paid homage to all Kashmir martyrs who sacrificed their lives for a scared cause particularly Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq and Abdul Ghani Lone. He said, these martyrs showed a path to the depressed people of IIOJK, adding that it was because of the sacrifices of these martyrs that the Kashmir dispute was dominating world politics particularly the regional politics. He said, best tribute to the martyrs is to follow the path for which they sacrificed their lives.

The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front in a statement said that Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone are among those martyrs who will always be remembered and followed. It said the Kashmiris’ freedom struggle is adorned with the blood of martyrs and therefore no power can defeat it.

The Jammu Kashmir Employee Movement spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar paying tributes to the martyred Hurriyat leaders said Mirwaiz Molvi Mohammad Farooq was a religious, social and political leader whereas Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone was a heedful and fearless leader who sacrificed their lives for their belief in a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute.

The spokesperson of Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami in a statement issued in Srinagar paid tributes to the martyrs leaders and said that Indian agencies had been using all tactics to suppress the ongoing liberation movement. He said that Indian agencies also martyred Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone to achieve their nefarious objectives. He added that despite all the tyranny and oppression of India, Kashmiris were continuing their struggle and were determined to accomplish the mission of their great martyrs at all costs.

International Forum For Justice Human Rights JK Chairman of IFJHRJK Muhammad Ahsan Untoo paid rich tributes to Molvi Muhammad Farooq, Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone and the victims of Hawal massacre on their martyrdom anniversary. He said the victims of the violence perpetuated by the Indian forces are still waiting for the justice. He said that although 15 CRPF personnel have been held responsible for the Hawal massacre but they are yet to be punished.

Untoo said that the IFJHRJK had filed a petition on 26 March in 2013 with the human rights commission of the occupied territory, seeking investigation of Hawal massacre and seeking compensation to the kin of killed and the persons who got injured in the massacre. He said that the commission issued a notice to Indian government, DIG BSF Kashmir Zone, DG of Indian police in Kashmir, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Nowhatta and SHO Zadibal, but there was no reply for one year. He added that meanwhile, the commission conducted own inquiry and two months after the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police submitted its report to the commission it closed the case as untraced.

Srinagar, May 21 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Harriet Conference has condemned the use of brute force and imposition of strict curfew to prevent people from offering homage to their martyred leaders and mourners who were killed ruthlessly by the Indian agencies and their mentors in uniform in 1990 and 2002 on this day.

Indian authorities intensified curfew and other restrictions in IIOJK, today, to prevent a march and prayer meetings announced by the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, on the martyrdom anniversaries of prominent martyred Hurriyat leaders, Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone, as well as the victims of Hawal massacre.

The APHC Chief Spokesperson, Ghulam Muhammad Nagoo, in a statement issued in Srinagar said it has become a routine matter in IIOJK that whenever such kind of tragedies were inflicted on the Kashmiri people they are forcibly stopped to display their love and reverence with their martyrs. He denounced the fascist Modi government’s action for blocking all roads leading to Srinagar and deploying heavy contingents of military, paramilitary and police personnel in the nook and corner of the territory to stop people from visiting Martyrs’ Graveyard at Eidgah in Srinagar and organizing protest rallies. He said such tactics cannot deter the Kashmiri people from their chosen path of freedom.

Paying rich tributes to Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq, Shaheed-e-Hurriyat Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone and martyrs of Hawal on their anniversaries, Ghulam Muhammad Nagoo reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to take the ongoing resistance moment to its logical end.

Terming the repressive and oppressive measures adopted by India as more fragile than the cobweb in comparison to the freedom sentiments and the strong willpower of the brave people of Kashmir, the APHC Chief Spokesperson said it is better for India to shun its illogical stubbornness and fulfill its commitments to resolve the Kashmir dispute in the light of the UN Security Council resolutions.
