Srinagar, January 22 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, posters were put up in different areas of the Valley by Wariseen-e-Shuhada-e-Jammu and Kashmir (Heirs of the martyrs of Jammu and Kashmir) asking the people to observe complete strike on Indian Republic Day (26th January) and mark it as Black Day.

The posters pasted on walls, pillars and poles in different areas and the main gate of Srinagar’s historic Jamia Masjid, say that India has no right to claim that it is a democratic country because it has been continuously denying the democratic right of self-determination to the people of IIOJK for last over seven decades. »

Srinagar, January 19 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian troops have committed scores of brutal carnages, most of them in the month of January in the territory.

According to an analytical report released by Kashmir Media Service, today, in eight years starting 1990, as many as five major massacres left hundreds of persons dead and property worth crores in ruins.

On January 21, 1990, occupational troops slaughtered over 50 civilians in Gaw Kadal area of Srinagar, 25 on January 25, 1990 at Handwara, 60 on January 06, 1993 in Sopore town and 27 on January 27, 1994 in Kupwara. Memories of these bloodbaths are still fresh in Kashmiris’ minds as they are reminder of the criminal face of Hindutva forces. »

Glowing tributes paid to victims of all gruesome massacres

Srinagar, January 19 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference while reiterating its call for shutdown on Thursday on the 31st anniversary of Gaw Kadal massacre has said that brutal Indian forces had committed the worst type of state terrorism by martyring over 50 innocent Kashmiris on January 21, 1990 in Srinagar.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Gaw Kadal and other such massacres reminded the notorious Jalianwala carnage, perpetrated by the then British government in India. The spokesman while paying tributes to over 130 victims of January massacres including the massacres of Gaw Kadal, Sopore and Handwara reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue the martyrs’ mission till its logical conclusion. »

Call for shutdown in Srinagar on Gaw Kadal massacre day

Srinagar, January 18 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, posters have appeared in Srinagar and adjoining areas asking people to observe shutdown in the city on January 21 to mark the 31st martyrdom anniversary of Gaw Kadal massacre.

Over 50 people were killed and hundreds others were injured when Indian troops had opened fire on peaceful protesters in Gaw Kadal area of Srinagar on January 21 in 1990. The demonstrators were protesting against the molestation of several women by the troops in the area. »

Jammu January 18 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, APHC leader and chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Social Peace Forum, Devinder Singh Behl, has said that Narendra Modi’s fascist Indian government is not only mistreating farmers but also oppressing minorities.

Srinagar, Jan 08 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Imam of Srinagar Jamia Masjid, Mufti Ghulam Rasool Samoon has denounced the continued illegal detention of Anjuman Auqaf Jamia Masjid President, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.

Mufti Ghulam Rasool Samoon addressing the congregational gathering at the Jamia Masjid said that the pulpit of the largest religious place and spiritual centre of Kashmir, Jamia Masjid Srinagar, continued to be silent for the 76th Friday now which otherwise would reverberate with the teachings of Qaalallah Wa Qaalar Rasool by the Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.

He said, the continued illegal detention of the Mirwaiz is not only unjustified and the worst form of dictatorship but was also totally unacceptable to the people. »

Islamabad, January 06 (KMS): Speakers at a seminar hosted by Kashmir Institute of International Relations (KIIR) in Islamabad made a passionate appeal to the UN Security Council to implement its resolutions that guaranteed right to self-determination to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Held in connection with Right to self-Determination Day on Tuesday, the seminar titled “Denial of Right to Self-Determination & BJP’s Hindu Conquest of Kashmir” was attended and addressed by prominent rights activists, academicians, former diplomats, law experts and Kashmiri leaders hailing from both sides of the Line of Control (LoC). The speakers included MNA Ms Noureen Farooq Abrahim Khan, JI leader Abdul Rashid Turabi, Pakistan Peoples Party AJK President Chaudhry Abdul Lateef Akbar, Syed Muhammad Ali Director Centre for Aerospace Security Studies (CASS), Prof Dr Muhammad Khan, Dr Owais Wasi, Dr Qaisir Raja, Syed Faiz Naqashbandi, Muhammad Ahmed Saghar and Advocate Parveez Shah. The event was chaired by KIIR Chairman, Altaf Hussain Wani, while Chairman Kashmir Committee Shaheryar Khan Afridi was chief guest but due to ill health could not speak. »
