Srinagar, February 09 (KMS): India is being vehemently criticized, both at home and abroad, for registering a case under draconian laws against the father of one of the three Srinagar fake encounter victims for demanding the body of his martyred son.

Indian police on Monday charged the 40-year-old father, Mushtaq Wani, under the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The victim, Athar Mushtaq Wani, along with two others was killed by Indian troops during a fake encounter in Lawaypora area of Srinagar on December 30, 2020.

Following strong criticism by Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and former IIOJK Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, now India is being grilled globally for booking a father for demanding the body of his son. »

Srinagar, February 06 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the High Court has issued directions to the occupation authorities to release a Kashmiri youth lodged at Agra Jail of Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

The court of Justice Rajesh Oswal issued this direction after annulling the detention of the Kashmiri youth, Nazir Ahmed Tantray, under draconian law, Public Safety Act.

Advocate Bashir Ahmed Tak who represented the detained youth told media that Indian police had arrested Nazir Ahmed Tantray, a fruit vendor by profession, on 5 August 2019, shortly after the abrogation of special status of IIOJK by the Narednra Modi-led fascist Indian government. He said that Tantray, a resident of Palhalan Pattan area of Baramulla district, was booked by the police and subsequently he was shifted to Agra Jail under the PSA. »

Srinagar, January 31 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian troops during cordon and search operations and house raids have arrested over half a dozen Kashmiri youth in south Kashmir districts.

The troops arrested Imran Ahmed, Irfan Ahmed, Bilal Ahmed, Taufeeq Ahmed, Muzammil Ahmed, Aadil Ahmed and Junaid Altaf in Bijbehra, Shopian and Pulwama areas.

The youth were arrested on fake charges by Indian army and they are under their interrogation centers, the family of the detained youth told media men. They expressed serious concern over their arrest and demanded their immediate release. »

Srinagar, January 30 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian police and troops arrested four youth in Pulwama and Doda districts.

The troops and police arrested two youth during a cordon and search operation in Lelahaar area of Pulwama. One among these youth had sustained injury in the firing of the troops during the operation. He was shifted to hospital for treatment. »
