Jammu, September 18 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, after almost a year, a woman from Doda district of Chanab Valley has complained that an unidentified lady chopped off her braid in mysterious circumstances.

A woman, Manju Devi (31) wife of Kanchi Lal and a resident of Jattar village of Doda, said that an unknown woman entered her room while she was busy in painting. She said that the woman sprayed something and after few seconds she fell unconscious and when she woke up, she found her braid chopped. »

Srinagar, September 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, panic gripped after braid of a lady was chopped off in Rajouri district.

The lady was on way to her sister’s house in Bareri, Koteranka in the district on Thursday when a portion of her hair was found chopped off by unknown persons.

She was found in a state of shock and was immediately admitted in a hospital. She was taken to community health center in Koteranka where her condition is said to be stable while the incident triggered panic in the area.

Srinagar, October 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik has stressed the need of unity to fight the menace of braid-chopping.

Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar said that safeguarding the honor of mothers, sisters and daughters was important but attacking and hurting innocents in the name was gruesome and criminal.

Meanwhile, on the JRL call, the JKLF leaders and activists along with people from all walks of life staged a protest rally against growing attacks on Kashmiri women. »

Srinagar, October 18 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has denounced the braid-chopping incidents and use of force on people protesting against these shameful acts across the territory.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who is also head of Awami Action Committee, addressing an AAC meeting in Srinagar, today, deplored the apathy of the puppet regime over the disgraceful acts against Kashmiri women. Leaders and activists of Awami Action Committee participated in the meeting.

Srinagar, October 18 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, agitated people thrashed three Indian soldiers, who were believed to be braid choppers, and set their vehicle on fire after checking their identity cards at Kangan in Gandarbal district.

The personnel from Territorial Army traveling in a private car were moving in a suspicious way when a group of people stopped them and demanded their identity cards. As the identity cards revealed that they were soldiers, the people understood that they were braid choppers and started thrashing them. The soldiers were rescued by an army party from a nearby camp. »

Srinagar, October 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, several people were injured when Indian troops used brute force on peaceful protesters in Hajin area of Bandipora district, today.

People took to the streets after Indian troops launched a cordon and search operation in Parray Mohalla and Kochak Mohalla areas of Hajin. The troops fired pellets and teargas shells to disperse the protesters, injuring several of them. »

Locals catch braid-chopper soldier in Kupwara

Srinagar, October 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, fresh incidents of braid chopping in Srinagar, Pulwama, Baramulla, Bandipora and Kupwara districts triggered protests, clashes and shutdown in different areas of the Valley, today.

Protesters, mostly women, blocked Bandipora-Srinagar highway against a braid chopping incident in Panzinara area of Srinagar. The protests disrupted traffic for several hours. The protesters raised slogans demanding arrest of the culprits. Clashes were reported from Rambagh after braid of a local woman was found chopped off. The protesters blocked main road, which disturbed vehicular movement. Indian police used brute force and fired teargas shells on the protesters. »

Srinagar, October 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq expressing serious concern over the unabated incidents of braid chopping coupled with theft of gold jewelry and cash has said that the puppet regime has failed to nab culprits and stop the incidents.

The forum spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “So far, people of Kashmir have only witnessed tall claims and hollow assurances on the part of police without any tangible progress in apprehending the elements involved in these incidents.” »

Srinagar, October 16 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, protests erupted in Sopore area of Baramulla district on Monday after a woman’s braid was chopped off in the town.

A woman of Ningli area of Sopore, in her fifties, said braid choppers broke into her house and cut her braid. This is the third such incident in the area in less than twenty-four hours. Yesterday, two women said their braids were chopped off. »
