Srinagar, March 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, illegally detained Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Islami Tanzeem Azadi, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, was presented before a TADA court in Srinagar via video conferencing in a false case registered against him.

The Islami Tanzeem Azadi General Secretary, Sheikh Abrar Ahmed, in a statement issued in Srinagar said that ailing party Chairman, lodged in Srinagar Central Jail, was to be presented in Kupwara court on March 10, but instead he was presented to the TADA court in Srinagar via video conferencing on March 11 in an old false case. He said that the TADA court adjourned the hearing of the case till March 31. »

Jammu, March 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, illegally detained senior APHC leader and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League, Masarrat Aalam Butt, was presented before a TADA court in Jammu in a false case filed against him.

Masarrat Aalam Butt, who has mostly been in jail since 2010, was produced by Indian police before the TADA court in Jammu in a fake case registered against him in 2012.

After listening the arguments from the Public Prosecutor and the Counsel representing Masarrat Alam, the court listed the case for next hearing on April 09. »

IOK High Court seeks authorities’ response

Srinagar, March 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court has directed the authorities to respond to a plea seeking the shifting of illegally detained Kashmir High Court Bar Association President, Mian Abdul Qayoom, to Srinagar from New Delhi’s Tihar Jail.

The court also listed the main petition challenging Mian Qayoom’s detention under draconian law, Public Safety Act (PSA), for final arguments on March 20.

These directions were passed by a division Bench of Ali Muhammad Magrey and Dhiraj Singh Tahakur which has sought response within 10 days from the authorities on the plea seeking the shifting of the HCBA President. »

Islamabad, March 04 (KMS): The Pakistan Bar Council has strongly condemned the decision of the Indian government to extend the period of detention of High Court Bar Association President, Mian Abdul Qayoom, and General Secretary, Ashraf Butt, as well as political leaders of occupied Kashmir under the draconian aw, Public Safety Act.

Mian Qayoom, an old-aged lawyers leader who has remained President of High Court Bar Association of occupied Kashmir for 21 times is illegally and arbitrarily detained by India at Delhi’s notorious Tihar Jail for fearlessly demanding right to self-determination for the Kashmiri people. »

Srinagar, March 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court has quashed the detention of three people including the Spokesman of the Jamaat-e-Islami, Zahid Ali, under the draconian law, Public Safety Act (PSA).

Besides Zahid Ali, the detention of Jamaat-e-Islami district Bandipora President Sikander Malik and Samir Wani was also quashed.

The order was passed by Justice Rashi Rabstan.

Geneva, March 04 (KMS): The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has filed an intervention in the Supreme Court on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and informed India’s Permanent Mission in Geneva about it.

India’s Permanent Mission in Geneva was informed on Monday by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, that her office had filed an intervention application in the Supreme Court of India in respect to the 2019 Citizenship Amendment Act. »

New Delhi, March 02 (KMS): Indian Supreme Court has refused to refer to a larger bench a batch of pleas challenging the constitutional validity of India’ unilateral decision of 5th August 2019 of abrogating Article 370 of the Indian constitution, which granted special status to occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

These cases were filed in the Supreme Court following the Narendra Modi government’s move to abrogate Article 370 and scrap the special status of Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, last year. »

Srinagar, February 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi has expressed concern over the plight of Kashmiri detainees languishing in jails of occupied Kashmir and India.

A party spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the treatment meted out to the Kashmiri detainees in Indian jails is against the international norms and manuals of jail. He said that the detainees are kept in jails of Kotbhalwal, Jammu, Kathua, Agra, Rajashtan, Haryana and Tihar- far away from their homes. »

Bengaluru, February 25 (KMS): A team of three lawyers from Bengaluru, India, who had gone to Dharwad in north Karnataka to represent three Kashmiri students charged with sedition were heckled, shouted at and threatened by Hindu extremists.

Talib Majeed, Basit Asif Sofi and Amir Mohiuddin Wani, studying at a private college in Hubballi district of Karnataka were arrested last week for allegedly raising pro-Pakistan slogans and posting a video on social media. »

IOK HC grants authorities 4 weeks to file status report

Jammu, February 21 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, High Court has directed the authorities to furnish latest status report within four weeks regarding security being provided to the Hurriyat leaders.

The directive was given by a division bench of the High Court comprising Chief Justice, Gita Mittal and Justice Rajesh Bindal, in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Deewakar Sharma seeking withdrawal of the security cover provided to the Hurriyat leaders and other persons. »
