The troops cordoned off Gulshanpora area of the town and started door-to-door searches. A large number of troops and police personnel have been deployed in the area. »

Srinagar, April 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, curfew continues to remain enforced in Kishtwar, Doda and Bhaderwah areas of Jammu region on the third consecutive day, today.

Curfew was imposed in these areas after unknown gunmen killed RSS leader, Chandrakant Singh, and his personal security officer, Rajinder Kumar, at district hospital Kishtwar.

Heavy contingents of Indian military, paramilitary and police personnel have been deployed along the roads to prevent protests against the killings. »

Srinagar, April 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, vindicating the stance of Hurriyat leadership that holding of the so-called elections in the territory is nothing but a military exercise, the authorities have deployed over 32,000 additional Indian troops and police personnel for the first phase of Indian parliamentary polls in Baramulla constituency in North Kashmir.

The Baramulla Lok Sabha constituency is spread over three border districts of Baramulla, Kupwara and Bandipora. »

Indian army, paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force and Special Operation Group led the massive operations at Satoora, Khangund and Sogund in Tral areas of the district.

Srinagar, April 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police and troops have arrested five youth during nocturnal raids in Budgam district.

The troops and police carried out nocturnal raids in Lalgam area of Chadoora in the district and arrested five youth for participating in anti-India demonstrations.

The detained youth were identified as Irfan Ahmed Thoker, Umar Faroq Dar, Muhammad Maqbool Ganai, Arsalan Mushtaq Ahangar and Muhammad Shafi Butt. »

Srinagar, April 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops launched massive cordon and search operations (CASOs) in Bandipora, Baramulla, Kupwara, Shopian, Pulwama and Kulgam districts.

The troops during a cordon and search operation sealed all entry and exit points in Saderkot area of Bandipora district.

The troops also launched door-to-door searches in different areas of Baramulla, Kupwara, Shopian, Pulwama and Kulgam districts. »

Srinagar, March 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed in Bellow area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on the first martyrdom anniversary of a Kashmiri freedom activist, Shahbaz Ahmed Wani.

Wani was killed along with his associate, Farooq Ahmed Hura, by Indian troops during a cordon and search operation in Padgampora area of Awantipora in Pulwama on 26th March, last year.

All shops and other business establishments are closed in the area while traffic is off the road.

Meanwhile, people are visiting the residence of the martyr and his grave to offer Fateha.

Srinagar, March 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a latest study – and the first one to evaluate vision in pellet-injured eyes – has revealed that 59.3 percent of the victims suffer visual impairment of various degrees among them 36.7 ending up with severe blindness in the territory.

The study at Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar has lent scientific support to the fears about lethality of the metallic pellet shotguns widely used by Indian troops, paramilitary and police personnel in Kashmir against protesters. The study included 664 patients out of the 1066, who were admitted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar between July 2016 and January 2018, with eye injuries suffered due to pellet shotguns. »

Srinagar, March 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, clashes broke out between Indian forces’ personnel and youth after a contingent of Indian forces cordoned off Nai-Basti area of Arwani village in south Kashmir’s Islamabad district.

Soon after a joint team of Indian army, Special Operations Group and Central Reserve Police Force laid a siege to Arwani village, youth took to the streets and pelted them with stones. The troops fired teargas shells on the protestors. »

JKLF rejects ban as Modi’s election stunt

Srinagar, March 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities, after banning the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), have started a crackdown against the party by calling its leaders and activists to the police stations.

A senior police officer said that numerous JKLF leaders and activists have been asked on telephone to report at their respective police stations.

The Indian government has empowered the authorities in the territory to prohibit the use of spaces and funds by the JKLF. »
