Srinagar, March 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Kashmir Press Club has strongly condemned the harassment of two photojournalists by Indian police in Pulwama district.

Two cameramen, Qayoom Khan and Qaisar Mir, working for CNN-News 18 and TV9 Bharatvarsh, were stopped by the police from performing their professional work in Pulwama and their camera and two mobile phones were also snatched away and returned after almost 5 hours.

The Kashmir Press Club in a statement in Srinagar denounced the harassment of journalists by Indian army and police. »

Srinagar, February 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, business community including traders, hoteliers, silk producers, artisans, fruit associations and other trade and commerce bodies have sent out an SOS in a full-page advertisement published in several local dailies.

The SOS message emphasises that the ill-fated trade, tourism, horticulture, agriculture, handicrafts, commerce and industrial community of Kashmiris is in the middle of the sea of debt and destruction”. »

Srinagar, February 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday carried out fresh raids on the residences of Kashmiri youth in Badgam and Pulwama districts.

The NIA sleuths backed by Indian army and police personnel completely sealed Khansahab area of Badgam district while troops were deployed in strength at all entry and exit points in the area.

In the meantime, NIA teams raided the residences of two youth identified as Saqib Ahmad Lone and Suhail Maqbool, simultaneously. They were arrested by Indian police in the district, last week, on the fake charge of being overground workers of mujahideen. »

Indian police arrest two youth

Srinagar, February 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops launched a cordon and search operation in Pulwama district, today.

The troops cordoned off Kareemabad area of the district and launched house-to-house searches. A large number of Indian police personnel and troops have been deployed in the area, causing huge inconvenience to the local people. The operation continued till last reports came in.

On the other hand, Indian police arrested two youth during a raid in Gulbugh area of Pulwama, late last night. The police dubbed the arrested youth, Aaqib Maqbool Lone and Naser Ahmed Hurra, as over ground workers of mujahideen.

Srinagar, February 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, thousands of people attended the funeral prayers of two martyred youth in Islamabad and Budgam districts.

Indian troops martyred the youth, Khateebul Das and Zia-ur-Rehman, during a cordon operation in Lawaypora-Shalteng area of Srinagar on Wednesday.

As the bodies of martyrs, Khateebul Das and Zia-ur-Rehman, reached their native villages of Waghama in Islamabad, Lawypura in Srinagar and Ath in Budgam, thousands of people flocked there. People, shouting pro-freedom and anti-India slogans, took the martyrs’ bodies to the local graveyards where they were lowered into the graves amid sobs and tears.

Several mujahideen offered gun salute to Khateebul Das at Waghama by firing several rounds in the air, the locals told media men.

Srinagar, January 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred three Kashmiri youth in Srinagar, today.

The troops martyred the youth during a cordon operation in Lawaypora-Shalteng area of Srinagar.

Earlier, one Indian soldier was killed and another was injured in an attack in the same area.

Soon after the incident, Indian police and troops cordoned off the area and launched searches. Further details are awaited.

Meanwhile, Indian troops launched a cordon and search operation in Bugam area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, today.

Srinagar, January 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops continued the cordon and search operations in Srinagar and in several other areas of the territory, causing huge inconvenience to the people.

The troops continue these operations in Srinagar, Kupwara, Handwara, Rafiabad, Tujjar, Chandoosa, Pattan, Hajin, Chadoora, Kangan, Tral, Awantipora, Bijbehara, Shopian, Kulgam, Ramban, Kishtwar, Doda and other areas.

The residents of several areas talking to media men said that the harassment, frisking, checking and door-to-door searches by the Indian forces’ personnel had made their life miserable. They said that the troops and police personnel during operations besides arresting youth were abusing and threatening inmates to stop supporting the liberation struggle. They added that no media are also showing the real worst situation of occupied Kashmir. »

Life remains badly hit in valley due to continued lockdown

Srinagar, January 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA), an amalgam of several traders’ bodies, has decried shortage of essential commodities due to frequent closure of the Srinagar-Jammu highway.

The residents of the Kashmir Valley have been facing an acute shortage of the daily necessities including food items, petrol, LPG and life-saving medicines since August 5, last year, when Indian government repealed the special status of occupied Kashmir and placed it due under strict military lockdown. The frequent closure of the Srinagar-Jammu highway, the only surface link of the Valley with the rest of the world, due to rains and snowfall has added to the miseries of the people. »

Jammu, January 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred one more Kashmiri youth in Doda district of Jammu region, today.

The troops martyred the youth identified as Haroon Hamad during a cordon and search operation in Gundara area of the district.

Indian police claimed that Haroon Hamad was a mujahid commander, who was killed during an encounter with the troops.

“Haroon Hamad was trapped and killed in the combat operation,” the police said. »
